The post-game statistics screen consistently places the GPU under a very high sustained workload, despite displaying only a mostly static user interface. On my system, I consistently observe the following while viewing the post-game statistics screen: GPU utilization: approximately 95–99% GPU power draw: approximately 300 W GPU temperature: 72–74°C Sustained high GPU clock speeds Noticeably increased GPU fan speed and overall system fan noise The most surprising part is that actual gameplay is quieter than the post-game statistics screen . The game is configured with a 120 FPS frame rate limit , and I have confirmed that the behavior is identical with both HDR enabled and HDR disabled . This issue appears to be isolated to the post-game statistics/results screen . Steps to Reproduce Launch Age of Empires IV . Play and complete any match (Skirmish against the AI, Quick Match, or Ranked). The issue occurs regardless of game mode. When the post-game statistics/results screen appears, observe the GPU fan noise. Verify the GPU workload using MSI Afterburner . Expected Result The post-game statistics screen is largely static and should require significantly less GPU processing than actual gameplay. The GPU fans should remain relatively quiet while viewing the match results. First i must disappoint you that i haven’t figured out (re)modelling of buildings and units in Age of Mythology yet. I do plan to learn to expand the modpack. For now i’ve created a pantheon of three major gods, and on paper i also have a fourth ready. Besides that i have reorganised some of the human units. With each we pass through different times in Mesopotamia. In general the Mesopotamian civilization is setup as followed: in the towncenter you have access to a regular villager (inbetween an egyptian and greek one) and a Mes Gala which is a lamenting priest to support your units and gather relics. When you reach the classical age you gain access to the Kisri Barracks, here you train military from your serf caste that are conscripted or forced to fight your battles. The mainline of the Mesopotamians is archers. In the Kisri Barrack you will find the Kisri Spearman, Kisri Light Archer and the Shaknu Hero. The Shaknu is the kisri (serf) captain. The Mesopotamian archers have longer range but are weaker. Only the Shaknu is more durable and specialises in myth units, he is limited available and his limit increases by 1 per age to a max of 4 to support your archer squads. After the archaic age with each age you unlock a hero in the towncenter. Each major god has a different serie of 3 major heroes to offer. As Templars on Boulder Bay, my pilgrims went all the way around the beach through the other team’s base before getting on a boat to cross to the island sacred site. Presumably, they’re searching for the shortest water route, which caused them to take a comically long (and fatal) land route first. Should be an easy fix. Thanks! As stated in the title, I cannot get the game to boot properly on the PortingKit version of AoE3: DE. I encounter the following error log: “Your video hardware does not support DirectX 11 which is required for Age of Empires III DE.” “Age of Empires III DE requires at least a 1 GB video card. This computer appears to have a 0 MB video card.” “Your video hardware does not support DirectX 11 which is required for Age of Empires III DE.” The port installs successfully, but I cannot select “attempt to run” like I could in the past when this error dialog pops up. How do I solve this? I changed the launch options to the intro thing. As far as tech specs go, I’m on the 2018 Macbook Pro with a 2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7 processor. I’m running OSX 15.7.4 Sequoia.

Hi everyone, ​I’m writing this post to share my extreme frustration regarding the current state of matchmaking and overall game balance in casual / Quick Matches. ​Today I hit my absolute limit: 10 losses in a row. Not due to a lack of effort, but because of a system that seems fundamentally unable to create balanced or enjoyable games. ​The main issues ruining the experience right now are: ​Total team imbalance: Far too often I get paired with teammates who are clearly beginners or completely unaware of basic mechanics, playing against well-coordinated stacks. ​Low-level smurfs: I keep running into players with low-level profiles who clearly possess expert-level build orders, micro, and macro skills. ​Brainless unit spam (Cavalry/Camel massing): On top of the matchmaking, the meta in casual games often devolves into players mindlessly spamming 100+ cavalry or camels and A-moving them across the map. It requires almost no tactical variety, yet it becomes extremely oppressive to deal with when playing with uncoordinated random teammates. ​Age of Empires is a great game, but it has a brutal snowball effect: if a teammate collapses early or if there’s a massive skill gap, there is virtually no way to come back in game. This turns 30 to 40-minute matches into a slow, agonizing drag, leaving you with nothing but frustration. ​I understand Quick Matches are meant to be casual, but that shouldn’t mean they have to be an unfair coin toss or a cavalry raid simulator. We need a stricter matchmaking algorithm that accurately factors in real player skill. ​Are you guys experiencing the same thing lately? How do you deal with mass cavalry spam when queuing with random teammates?

For a long time, Germany in Age of Empires III felt like a giant “mash-up” faction, which made it really hard for Early Modern European history buffs like me to get immersed. Now we have Prussia, Federal Germany, and even the Teutonic Order! Why can’t we have Austria, too? Just imagine a match between Prussia and Austria—that would be so awesome! Not trying to be one of those people on Reddit who just whines that their favorite God got nerfed. I'm actually looking for suggestions as to what advantages Isis might have now that prosperity has been gutted. She used to be incredibly strong because of this one God power alone. Super fast second Town center, or a huge army of priests. A lightning fast heroic age, or a Lazer Lizard spam. Her God power gave her options. More than any other God in the game, she was FLEXIBLE. Not anymore. Prosperity takes so long now, an opponent can lightly harass your gold mine and nullify the GP pretty effectively. Her ancestors + eclipse got nerfed. Sphinx got nerfed. Anubites got nerfed. She went from a super flexible god, to only being able to get wins with Thoth Elephants. And you all know it. If you are against Isis, you know a Meteor is coming. At least Ra had strong Migdol units, and Set had barracks units. But Isis has no strengths to lean into anymore. Rip Isis.

And questioning whether or not there's going to be future aom DLC need to shut up. Also, all of the posts saying that they think there's enough DLC needs to shut up. Given this new DLC for AOE 3, we should all be hopeful for much more to come for AOM

Not sure if folks have noticed, but the previously cancelled DLC for AOE3 DE, Danes and Polish-Lithuanians, has been announced and set to wishlist on steam. I’m curious to hear community thoughts on the fact that this old DLC is being revived now, what it could mean regarding AOE3 DE, and especially what it means for AOMR; are they moving away to focus/try their hand at other content, testing the waters for the appetite for AOE3, or are they simply giving the fans of all titles the love they want and we can now rest in hope that, if not soon, at some point we will be getting another DLC for AOM?

I Main Jin this season and one thing I notice is that using control group are inefficient for micro since I have low APM and I usually microing my control groups while seeing my newest mohe run to their death. Assigning them to the current control group would ruin my micro since I need to micro them right at that second while moving my melee cavalry to run away from the spears.

Everyone gets a phase where they want to make changes and tweaks to a game they like, so now it's my turn. --- General Goal : When Retold released, a few things were added such as Godi, Hirdmen, and Freyr they added to Norse without feeling like they changed the core of how Norse functioned. With these new toys, a few things feel like they got overlooked. Tyr and Baldr are still the only minor gods with two upgrades. Godi upgrades are non-existent, they only get the Sessrumnir 10% HP (weird for a ranged unit), and 5% speed through Hall of Thanes, both underwhelming. Freyr introduced a lot of new concepts, and I think it's time some of his ideas made their way back to some of the older units. Changes: ~ New Hel Tech: Einvigi, 200g, 20 favor. Hersir deal 2x to other Heroes, Godi deal 3x to other Heroes. Increase favor generation of Heroes when fighting Heroes and Myth by 50%. Piggybacking on the idea of Vidar's Twilight of the Gods, this Hel tech is based around the idea that Hel likes her Myth units, and would love an excuse to bring down enemy heroes with her own. 2x and 3x feel like about the right amount that a Hersir or a Godi would feel like an expensive Peltast hitting an archer in terms of damage. ~ Bragi buff: Thurisaz Rune. Now also applies its 10% speed boost and 0.5/s regeneration to Godi. A 10% speed boost is enough to bring Godi to about 4.7-4.8 speed, 5.0 if Forseti is involved, which starts to become meaningful for them. 0.5/s regeneration isn't exactly Hyperion's Heroic Renewal, but between that and their reasonable speed, they can escape bad engagements. Also entertains the idea of teching into Bragi as a minor god who can "counter flying". ~ New Tyr Tech: Dwarven Ingenuity, 150g, 10 favor. Ballistae are significantly quicker to aim, have a faster projectile, train time -35%, and deal 2x damage to Myth. Until Aegir came along, Ballistae didn't have a minor god upgrade.
