I am new to the game. I tend to like defensive and economic strategies with an emphasis on trading and achieving gradual advantages. Are there overviews of the civilizations’ play styles which I can review?

Difficulty Ratings 0: A very minor threat that is easy to overcome 1: A fair fight that makes things interesting 2: A difficult situation that requires some outside the box thinking 3: A highly difficult situation requiring lots of micro-management, unit-countering and precise timing 4: A constant struggle in which focus and momentum must be maintained at all times, as well as proper tactics and timing 5: Nearly impossible. Every move must be flawless or aggressive save-scumming is necessary to win Arariboia: (green) I had a more fun than expected time playing the Mapuche campaign, and I’m hoping the Tupi aren’t a let down. Assuming some of the regional unit types and structures are the same, I have a decent grasp on how this civ will play, and it’s unclear what enemies I’ll be facing (though I can assume other tribes and the Spanish). I’ve heard this one and El Dorado are both less…enjoyable than the first, but I’m hoping I still get some proper enjoyment out of them anyway. Exodus: Difficulty 1 Local Villages (grey), Refugees (yellow), Cunhambebe’s Army (purple), Cunhambebe’s Raiders (red) This is an interesting and simple mission that reminds me of the first Mapuche scenario. Here, the player is initially given control of a small army of infantry and archers in the west and tasked with defeating a force of enemy soldiers on a coast. At the conclusion, the player is shown a vast enemy camp in the north and a small player camp in the southeast, guarded by some more soldiers, a hero and a castle. This camp is under attack by more soldiers, and after repelling them the mission properly starts. The player is in the feudal age, cannot advance past the castle age or construct siege weapons, docks or castles, and must survive. The main objective is to guard 20 refugee carts that run along a single road from the southwest to the northeast.
