Let's take a look at the most "anti-building" units in the game. While siege will likely make up most of the top spots, how do things like Chu Ko Nu with a Saracen ally, Japanese champions, and Jaguar Warriors stack up?

I deeply apologize in advance to the veterans of the forum if this topic has ever been discussed. I think it deserves more coverage. With the release of ROR, we got a legionnaire unit for Rome, but I honestly don’t understand why, according to the banal logic, Byzantium didn’t get a legionnaire? After all, in the Sicily campaign we see that Byzantium uses this unit, but it is not in the technical tree. Why not add a legionnaire to the Byzantine line of militia?

When I was playing Age of Empires 2, out of nowhere a chime sounded, and this AI voice started talking to me. It said I was doing a good job with my fishing economy. Then it said something like "I see you have Crossbows and Knights in queue. Let me know if you need help with your next steps". The thing was even using my first name to talk to me. I did a google search and when I described what was happening, it kept giving me results on voice-to-text options. I asked google AI if there was some sort of AI built into Microsoft that could observe what was happening in an Age of Empires game, and it said such a thing didn't exist. I went on forums and Discord to see if anyone has had this happen, and being the cheeky community that AoE2 is, they pretended that I was hearing voices in my head. Gotta love the guys in T90 Discord ❤️. So today the voices came back and I recorded it (video attached). It was Microsoft Game Assist (I installed AOE2 through the Microsoft store, which is why this is not more common; I don't like Steam because I feel it is too intrusive.... worked out great for me there) So what the actual fuck... I am sure that when I installed the Xbox or Microsoft App, it probably had something somewhere that told me that Game Assist was going to be installed. I had no idea what Game Assist was, and generally if there are extra things it wants to install, I uncheck them, so I dunno what trickery they used to get me to install this. This program just came out of nowhere to talk to me.... using my first name... commenting on stuff that was happening in game... and was responding to me, so that meant that the Microphone was enabled. If I ever see a program that wants to use my mic, I don't let it. Anyway... if anyone ever comes across this in the future... you are not crazy. I would like some help. I feel that even when putting pressure on my opponent, I often arrive late to the castle age. I would like to know how to improve in this specific aspect. I know I have a lot to improve, but I want to focus on one thing at a time, and I see that this has been my weakness. I know theoretically what I have to do: 12-15 farms, start building farms early, send more for gold, and maybe use the market, but I don't know where I'm going wrong. I'd like someone to help me with this. I am between 1300-1400 Elo. Many Barbarian units are made faster. Savage barbarians surround your men. Many of your men will die from an ambush at the start of the game. Avenge your fallen brothers by venturing forth into the forest to destroy the barbarian menace. Alternatively, you gather all the relics to achieve relic victory. Be warned, the Barbarians can do the same. Note: many units have very high HP. This is to make the scenario more cinematic and drag out the ambush fights. Trees can’t be destoryed. Note: This proposal doesn’t remove any existing playstyle. It simply lets Bloodlines support Heavy Cavalry Archers while Ordo Cavalry (Ordo) continues to define the melee cavalry path. It’s just one possible way to improve the interaction between Ordo and Bloodlines. The goal isn’t simply to make Heavy Cavalry Archers stronger, but to let the Khitans regain a mounted archer identity that matches their historical image, since for a civilization famous for mounted archery, Early Heavy Cavalry Archers alone aren’t enough. Summary The whole idea can be summed up in one sentence: Keep Bloodlines, but let Ordo override its effect only for Ordo Cavalry. Instead of completely removing Bloodlines from Khitans, Ordo could have a more targeted interaction with Bloodlines: Bloodlines remains available. Cavalry units not affected by Ordo Cavalry, including Cavalry Archers, can still benefit from Bloodlines. Ordo Cavalry don’t receive the Bloodlines bonus, because it represents a different cavalry doctrine. The idea is to change the concept from: “Khitans don’t have Bloodlines.” to: “Khitans can choose between traditional cavalry and the Ordo system.” Currently, Khitans lose Bloodlines because of balance concerns. This is understandable, since their other civilization bonuses are already strong. However, removing an entire technology may create unnecessary restrictions. Bloodlines is not only a cavalry technology for one specific unit line; it also affects other possible strategies, such as Cavalry Archer compositions. A possible alternative is to let Ordo replace the traditional cavalry endurance provided by Bloodlines only for the units affected by Ordo Cavalry. In this design: Traditional cavalry can still follow the Bloodlines path. Ordo Cavalry follows its own specialized system. Cavalry Archer compositions remain possible with Bloodlines. I'm not proposing anything extreme or that we should haress the Devs, despite how they've ruined this game. But rather I'm suggesting that we should protest the manufactor of new DLC since we do not need it. What would be the best way to do this within legal boundaries? Should we all just collectively send them a petition or something?

What if there was a small sound cue or some extra blood when your units receive bonus damage of any kind? I think it would be very good for new players and even mid level players to understand that a unit is receiving a lot of extra damage.

I have been playing a lot of Sicilians defensively recently, and I find myself not taking Arson and Squires until very late. (You don't need a Barracks to get access to the Archery Range and Stable.) I would rather train Serjeants than Militia, so I don't need a Barracks except for those techs. What do you guys with higher ELO than me think?

Many of the campaigns, from Age of Kings to The Last Chieftans are excellent scenarios reflecting historical battles (sometimes not that accurately) in a range of gameplay. However, there may be something in regards to a scenario that you may feel is not quite right. Is it gameplay or historical accuracy? If anybody knows a mod that increases the volume of the sheep killing sound that would be very much appreciated. It's one of the most important sounds as it indicates when to bring in the next sheep. Even if someone knows the name of the wem file I can do the rest myself

This happened on nomad, during the initial temporary alliance phase. I tried to wall in an enemy vill at their in-progress dock, but they had placed a house foundation (invisible to me - not yet started) next to their vill. 4 squares were impossible to place wall foundations on. If we were actual allies, the house foundation ghost would exist and I wouldn’t be able to place my wall there, but it was invisible as this was my opponent..

Been getting into playing online lately. Does every single person at the lower levels do forward castle to win? Wish there was a little more variety. Or wish I could at least beat one of them.

I play normally during day hours(europe) - My games I either win convincingly playing 1 map/strategy. But my last 10 looses were exactly the same. By early castle age I was trailing in each game with nearly 1500-2000 score. When the game ends - all my opponents had around 80 wins/50 L or 130 games. Is it normal for people to be this much better than me at 1400 elo? I watch the games in capture age - they are much better in every aspect, especially micro and idle time. How are people so good with less than 100 wins ?
