GAME INFORMATION These details are CRITICAL; DO NOT skip them or your issue may not be reviewed. GAME BUILD #: 101.103.48987.0 ( #180059 )(1.1.2RC1) 24094652 GAME PLATFORM: Steam OPERATING SYSTEM: Mac ISSUE EXPERIENCED DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL (below). LIMIT TO ONE BUG PER THREAD. When playing on Mac, xsCreateUnit does not use its bool arguments as given in code, leading to units being created wrong (e.g. playing a sound instead of being placed as a foundation). Specifically: The value for foundation is instead used for playCreatedSound . The value for playCreatedSound is instead used for checkCollision . The value for checkCollision does not seem to be used, and making a foundation seems impossible. Note: xsCreateUnit also has a Mac bug with parsing the position vector argument, which I’ll report separately. FREQUENCY OF ISSUE How often does the issue occur? CHOSE ONE; DELETE THE REST ! 100% of the time / matches I play (ALWAYS) REPRODUCTION STEPS List CLEAR and DETAILED STEPS we can take to reproduce the issue ourselves… Be descriptiv e! I started playing this game shortly after release in 1999. Played super slow as a kid because I didn’t understand “wasting” resources on villagers and TC’s when I could use resources to make military units. The trade off was four hour games, barely beating the opponent on easy. I’ve played off and on over the years since. Recently got back into it a few months ago and started to improve thanks to channels like Hera’s. Don’t get me wrong. I still suck at this game 11. Elo is 900-950 range. I only play team games. All of this culminating into last night’s 3 v 3 on Oasis. I was on the flank. Didn’t wall in time. Got hammered 2 v 1 right as I made it to castle. While red was crushing me with infantry, yellow had scouts and a handful of vills to drop a castle on my face. Through the carnage I managed to get 1 villager to escape. My teammate (green) boomed playing in the pocket and was able to slow down the enemy while my other teammate (blue) walled off his flank. I had just enough resources to drop a tc with my one villager then spent the next 30 agonizing minutes trying to turn 1 villager into 2, 5, 25, 100. Eventually setup the market. Eventually got stone to build defensive castles. All while green and blue held the line. We ended up winning the match when I massed military buildings to throw trash at blue’s flank while he rapidly advanced with bombard towers. Did the enemy make mistakes? Probably. But it doesn’t matter to me. The fact that you can come back from the edge of oblivion and still win is what makes this game so much fun. And maybe I’m naive but RNG doesn’t really factor into this game too much. It’s not MLB the show (which I like) where you can hit the ball perfectly and still get out. Sorry. Long winded. Probably dumb. But I see sooooo much negativity regarding video games these days and I wanted to take the time to say I appreciate having a game like this.

Just wanted to say I haven't been so happy from a game in such a long time, first time beating hard AI and I just felt so happy lol. Thanks to this reddit I was able to take the advice and apply it and yeah eventually beat it. I dont even remember the last time feeling so happy over beating AI maybe dark souls but I didnt expect AOE to be like this in terms of difficulty and knowing there's 2 more harder difficulty is something I look forward to but fair play to all you guys who destroy AI like a piece of cake. Just wanted to say this might be one of the harder games I've ever played I dont know if its because im a bot or it generally is, if anyone replies what do you think?

I main Luthiaans and my typical strat is to rush for relics and go 3 stable all in with 10+6 knights in Castle Age. It has worked well for me very efficiently so far with either them not producing enough army and getting melted or them making enough army but still getting melted anyway. If the opponent goes for HCA or Crossbows I just go to their base to force the archers back since the knights 3 shot the vills so it's extremely easy to ruin their eco. Even when they go for camels, the 10+6 knights beat camels 1 on 1 unless its Hindustani or Gurjara camels and most of the time they don't have them FU upgrades anyway since they weren't going for it from the start. If i really seem them going for a spikes i either go skirms or if it's not enough just beat them with my knights. Is this a good strategy since the 10+6 knights in Castle Age are the strongest unit possible and I try to capitalize on that advantage to end the game quickly or ruin their eco before going into Imp and finishing them off

Just started the game (Xbox) after watching a lot of pro tourneys on YouTube and am able to beat the Moderate AI pretty easily and am struggling bad against the hard AI feudal rush and could use some pointers. Playing as Khmer on Arabia. Trying to do a feudal scout rush, my dark age isn’t perfect but I have been doing pretty good at matching their feudal time. On the replays were always neck and neck up to like 15 vills (my hunt isn’t the most efficient I think that’s part of it) but for the most part we click up within 30 seconds of each other and once we’re at like 20-22 vils it just snowballs somehow and I’m behind like 5 vills, behind like 5 military, and the gap just widens the rest of the game. It doesn’t feel like my feudal is terrible it’s pretty straight forward, I skip the barracks as Khmer first thing I do is build a stable and produce some scouts. I’ve tried 3, 6 scout rushes, castle rush with knights, I focus on making vils and not idling TC, and I just go loop their base and try to pick off vils and idle their resources and just run away from their army and eventually take the scouts home, hit castle age, create a range and skirms (archers if he has militia) for defense and then get like 5 knights on the field and whatever he comes with is just too overwhelming even 5 knights and 6-10 skirms aren’t enough they just keep coming. My defense certainly could use some improvement but even if I fully wall there will just be 30 archers outside of my base idling my resources from the outside. What do I need to be doing in feudal to survive this? I’ve found similar posts and it seems like all the answers just say to wall up scout rush or fast castle into knights like everything I’ve been doing but it just hasn’t been working. Specifically going from like 15-30 vils I just can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. The only thing I can think of is that the auto farms on Xbox sometimes wood/food lock me so I’ve tried to get ahead of it by manually building a few farm
