I find easier to manage my eco if I go through a checklist of automated decisions based in numbers. 4 vills per deer if I'm milling them, 4 sheep alive til I click Feudal, 8 on wood the moment I click, farm every 60 wood, 15 farms til I click Castle, 6 on gold if I'm going knights, 17 farms til wheelbarrow and so on. Wonder if you had any other.

So this is a question more to the older folks. When i started playing i always thought about Arabia as an open agressive map. Now at 1300 its kinda the oppesite. The least amount of agression into full wall and boom every match. Was arabia always like that? And is that just a symptom of not being a Lel aynmore?

We nerfed Regular Janissary from 8 to 7 range Its time we nerfed conqs range too from 6 to 5 Elite can remain at 6. Thoughts?

I was playing enclosed. I went up to feudal, made a couple of serjeants, and tasked them to build a donjon at their base. Their scout just straight up destroyed the Donjon foundation. I watched the replay from the opponent's perspective, and I cannot see the foundation from their POV. Their scout straight-up goes blindly into where I had the unbuilt foundation placed while the serjeants were on their way, and kills it. Were they cheating? And can I report the player for doing this, if so?

They're doing good on the ladder but i'm bleeding elo trying to figure them out. I tend to spam one civ at a time till I feel like i'm comfortable with that playstyle then try something new, i've gone from lithuanians -> ethiopians who have very straight forward game plans but I feel very lost with hindustanis. I get that they're a counter based civ but I sorta feel aimless with my comp, how I should open and what the resource distribution should be. I think lacking arb and knights is screwing with me since they're such versatile gold units, camels are cool and all but they're hyper niche and die to like, everything. It's difficult to find a stable comp without a flexible, high dps gold unit So i'm sorta sitting here in games not sure what direction to go, dying to early aggression, being unsure if I should be booming into HC+Shatagni/imp camel or pressuring with their mediocre midgame Also just got my assrolled by Turks Jan+Light cav since the camels got blown to pieces and the skirms got dived. Shits HARD

How is it possible, that you get time bans for connection drops but not for going afk or instant resigns at start, even everyone in both teams reports these people? There are people which instantly resign in 4v4 team games at start and you see the same account in the next game, because obviously nothing happens to them. Fun thing: if you also resign afterwards, because you don't want to play a 3v4 in freaking african clearing - YOU get a ban, but not the person, who ruined the game. In the range between 1000-1200 nearly half of the team games are ruined immediately at start.

Hello, Newbie here. I’m learning against AI, pretty much sticking to conquest. Call me OCD or whatever, but it kinda irks me when I’m wiping everything out and suddenly the game ends (albeit victorious) with just a few villagers, 1 or 2 buildings, maybe a few ships left to get. After several letdowns early on I learned the cheat code 104, of course, and have been using it since. Though it’s allowed me to get much further with my conquest, I want that feeling of total annihilation. I can’t be the only one, right?! Should I go in a certain order to accomplish this? Such as, leave one of the enemies town center or market place in tact until the very last? Also, unrelated question: What’s up with my buildings, people, and sometimes enemies buildings and people, always disappearing on me in Xbox? This is definitely cutting back on the experience. Thankfully I can access most of my buildings by holding LB (I think), but I had an issue where I couldn’t see my mining camp, couldn’t access it by secondary means, and thus couldn’t research the upgrades. Hoping the issue can be resolved (I’ve sort of read up that it’s just an Xbox issue) or at least there’s a certain setting that I can use in the meantime that works better. Any advice would be much appreciated if it can be fixed on my end. This game was one of my favorites as a kid, but it was always at a family members house that I played it since we stuck to console games at my house. So I never had a chance to get super into it. Hey, this only happens with AoE2 DE (all other Steam games are fine) but after the opening upon launching the game (and the xbox logo) I get no audio in the game. Everything is gone, sounds, music, all. I havent played in a year or so, but this never happened before. thanks beforehand! edit: actually if I let the intro play, the sound cuts anyway after a few seconds

Way back in Age of Kings and Age of Conquerors, Teutons had +5 Line-Of-Sight on their TC. This helped you find your sheep faster. In 2013, the devs gave this bonus to Chinese and increased it to +7 LOS on their TC to help with the very random Chinese start. Teutons lost their bonus because this was back when two civs could not have the same bonus. I propose we give Teutons +5 LOS on their houses. For comparison: Generic Outpost: Dark age: 6 tiles Feudal: 8 tiles Castle: 10 tiles Imperial: 12 tiles Teuton House Dark age: 6 tiles Feudal: 6 tiles Castle: 6 tiles Imperial: 6 tiles. Why this change? Teutons are already strong on closed maps and semi-closed maps. They don't need any buff there. Teutons are weak on open maps and extra vision will make their gameplay more consistent. "This sounds like an Ethiopian outpost that supports +5 population." Ethiopians also get +3 Line-of-sight on their outposts on top of removing the stone cost. So Ethiopian outposts still give more vision in every age.

It makes for some cool plays in closed maps. Obviously it needs to be balanced and only for one civ or regional bonus. Edit: to be more specific, only shoots with archers and villagers garrisoned, so it doesn't get a speed bonus. Also loses accuracy and fire rate while moving.

Is it possible to "separate" out sounds in this game? The game uses the same sounds for infantry dying as for male villagers, whereas female villagers have their own death sound. I would like all vills to have a unique death sound but my current understanding is that this is not possible, it would only be possible to have a unique female villager death sound, is this correct or can more be achieved with the genie editor? I sadly expect not. Many thanks

I’ve been plying 8 games full random to see if I can play with other civs and I have loss all of the games. I guess I’m just a sticking to strong civs I am used to
