Hello! I was wondering, since a bunch of studios connected to Xbox have been hit by layoffs today (with more apparently to come), do we know if any of the development studios that are working on the Age of Empires franchise are facing similarly tough times? Hopefully everything is fine and new DLCs will keep coming out, but I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about this.

Hello. I am currently learning how to play the game competitively, starting out with the two most popular maps of Arena and Arabia. I am still in the process of watching beginner tutorials like those from Hera, and reading threads here. I got a 23 vill naked fast castle BO down now, but that one only really works for maps like Arena where you are mostly safe from early aggression. I found that if I try that on maps like Arabia, I just die to any amount of early aggression as that kind of build order leaves no room for proper walling or units. Additionally, I found that I lack a build order for a proper feudal "only" game, aka Flush. I tried searching for one here, but couldn't find a proper one yet (that isn't years outdated). So, I need both a not-naked FC build order, and a "stay in Feudal" (Flush) build order, both for maps like arabia. I would really appreciate it if you guys could help me with that! My current "naked" 23 vill FC BO looks like this: 6 sheep, 3 wood, 1 to boar, 1 to house/mill, 2 to hunt, 4 to berries, 4 to same wood camp, 2 to gold, UP, 2 to wood, market/blacksmith, UP, 4 from wood new TC, berries vills new TC. (taken from a Reddit comment here and found it to work really well!)

After destoying the two towers in the campaign, sangala is supposed to send us waves of units + villagers and we are supposed to kill them before Porus arrived to support us (45 minutes). The first wave (56 units) appeared normally from Sangala but then no more units spawned and i waited the 45 minutes without fighting anyone, then Porus arrived and we destroyed normally the 3 Tc of Sangala. The issue here is then the absence of the ennemy units. Only a few sannahays elephants would spawn if i come close to the gates but they won’t move. FREQUENCY OF ISSUE How often does the issue occur? CHOSE ONE; DELETE THE REST ! I played this campaign twice, once in difficult and once in legendary. It didn’t happen in difficult but it did happen in legendary. REPRODUCTION STEPS List CLEAR and DETAILED STEPS we can take to reproduce the issue ourselves… Be descriptiv e! Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue: I don’t know how this bug appeared but i can share my game of the campaign so you can maybe find why this bug appeared. EXPECTED RESULT What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not prese nt? Sangala was supposed to send us a lot of waves with approximatively more than 2k units through the 45 minutes of wait. Here i only had 56 units with the 1st wave. As you can see in the pictures, no more than 56 units tried to escape, and no others units than the elephants appeared next to the gates of Sangala when i sent one unit close. I shared 2 replayes in the drive because i saved inside the game. GAME BUILD #: 101.103.48086.0 GAME PLATFORM: Microsoft Store OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 11 ISSUE EXPERIENCED LAN Lobbies were not visible to other machines on my local network, despite opening all the ports described in the guides. I found a solution that is working for now! After beating my head against the wall for a while, I asked m365 copilot to help troubleshoot the issue, and it seems that Windows 11 has a spare hyperV networking adapter that AoEII DE binds to if present and available on the system. This may not be applicable to all others, as this VEthernet adapter apparently is only enabled if you enable virtualization components on your system. I don’t use this system for virtualization, so this doesn’t seem to break anything else on my system, but YMMV. It was not possible to disable this adapter entirely as the system protects it, but you do have the ability to keep this adapter from binding IP addresses. This was the last change I made, and LAN lobbies were immediately visible again. I ran this powershell command via administrative powershell window: Disable-NetAdapterBinding -Name “vEthernet (Default Switch)” -ComponentID ms_tcpip I will update this thread if my LAN hosting breaks again, but this was the last change I made that fixed the issue. If this is indeed the long-term fix for this issue, I would hope that the game could be updated so that we don’t have to make this change in the future.
