GAME INFORMATION GAME BUILD #: 101.103.48086.0 ( #179158 )(1.1.1RC1) 23798925 GAME PLATFORM: Steam OPERATING SYSTEM: Mac ISSUE EXPERIENCED If a mod includes the file Effects.xs (with whatever code, as far as I can tell), and I try to start a game using it as a Data Mod, the game fails to start with the error message shown in the screenshot and returns to the main menu. Games start normally if the mod also contains empires2_x2_p1.dat . But if a mod does not contain a dat file, the game should just use the base game one. Including it adds unnecessarily to mod size, and when the dat file gets updated in the future the mod will then not automatically use the new version. FREQUENCY OF ISSUE 100% of the time / matches I play (ALWAYS) REPRODUCTION STEPS Create a local mod with resources/_common/xs/Effects.xs , e.g. the original file. (It can also contain some other xs code or even be empty. The mod can also contain some other files, but not resources/_common/dat/empires2_x2_p1.dat .) Import local mods. Single player → skirmish → choose the mod above as data mod → start game. EXPECTED RESULT The game should start, using Effects.xs from the mod and empires2_x2_p1.dat from the base game. Since my last post got hidden. (idk why??) Im asking again, when are we going to address elefant in the room? Lower level TG ladders are just unplayble. It feels waste of time to play when you see asian based name on enemy team, since their most likely to be fake elo or boosting someone like Vivi! Its just better to alt+G4 min0 at that point than try to fight inevitable.

Game is closing itself today, this is the second time today. Played over 5 days ago 3 un-interrupted games lasting 1h 50m long average at full 8 players with 200 pop. The frame rate as low as 30-40 with not a single crash of any kind despite the PC struggles with 200 pops lolol. It doesn't gives any error, no warning box with some usual thing like (0x00000000) sort of things, no error report box. It simply closes itself, as if killed by task manager. Edit: Forgot to mention, a computer can't deteriorate in the spam of 5 days. Don't even bother mentioning the hardware. The games went from dark age to imperial until the resign of the AI. The game closes itself at any time, while in-game and idling in menus, thus completely invalidating the mods, as they weren't even loaded and used in-game. Left the game idling on skirmish menu, it has closed the same way after 4-5 minutes, idling. [The game is in this state, officially unplayable]

I would reccomend to add longhouses as a unique building for viking civilization or as a decorative building (like tents and yurts) that provides 5 population space (this is a good art https://www.vikingtimes.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Viking-and-a-Longhouse-768x768.webp ). I got this idea when I was creating a campaign about Vikings. Right now I use settlements as longhouses. The main problem that a settlement reminds longhouses only in dark and feudal ages. But in castle age it totally loses european style. Also, add pls some tower and wall ruins. This stuff will make scenarios more attractive)

Hello, how to create a tech like spies in regicide but for each player’s hero. Or should I create a hero unit out of a king?

Whether in-game or sitting on the home screen, the game crashes, without any error prompt. Issue started 4 hours ago (24/6/26 18:00 AEDT), and has happened for ~15 consecutive launches. When hovering the mouse onto any ally dropsite, town center, mill, etc, it show the “drop resources at the dropsite” icon. However you can’t task them to go drop their carried resources onto ally building, it’s only the cursor who got the isuse, not the tasking. FREQUENCY OF ISSUE How often does the issue occur? CHOSE ONE; DELETE THE REST! 100% of the time / matches I play (ALWAYS) REPRODUCTION STEPS List CLEAR and DETAILED STEPS we can take to reproduce the issue ourselves… Be descriptive! Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue: gather some resources with villager select those villager hover mouse on any ally dropsite building to see the cursor changing. EXPECTED RESULT What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present? Cursor not changing when there is no task to affect, only showing the drop resources icon on your own deposites buildings. IMAGE ALWAYS attach a PICTURE (.jpg, .png, .gif) or VIDEO (.mp4, YouTube link) that highlights the problem. Can’t screenshot it, the cursor is hidden while screenshoting, easy to reproduce. There was an update done a few weeks ago that caused anyone playing on a Mac through Crossover to lag. Has there been any solution to this issue? Has anyone found a work around? Have not played since the update.

Starting this morning (I imagine it has something to do with today's Steam update), my game only stays open for a few minutes; after that, it closes automatically, without any warning or the usual crash report. It has nothing to do with whether or not I'm in a match, even when I'm not playing, the game closes. Is this happening to anyone else? Any solutions?

Upon its release it was a very useful tool that the spanish players had to overcome any monk wars thx to it decreasing by 1 the convertion time in units, meaning you had better chances of getting the convertion first. Now it also gives missionaries +1 range which is very useful because of all the buffs that unit has received lately (now has 11 range vs the 12 of monks + they can carry relics as well). However, after the tech devotion was introduced, the effect of Inquisition was negated completely making it rather pointless aside from the +1 range for missionaries. Its clear they never thought of the big monk meta that would force them to release the devotion tech in the first place, but i think Inquisition should decreace by 2 the convertion time, so that it has some meaning and value like it was supposed when it was developed
