Other stone tool-using civs for AoM

The Aztecs have shown that cultures with stone tool technology can fit seamlessly into AoM’s mechanic, so I’ve been thinking about what other stone tool-using civs could be added that could share the flint weapons-jade weapons-obsidian weapons line. Polynesians: I can see these guys having some really interesting and unique mechanics. The primary basis would be the Māori because they have the most interesting environment and a well-developed warrior tradition complete with fortifications. Imagine a map with huntable moas and giant eagles as predators. Major gods would be Tangaroa, Rangi and Papa. Minor gods could include Māui, Ulupoka, Hina, Te Tunaroa and Pele. Chumash: I admittedly don’t know much about this mythology other than that Shnilemun (sky coyote) is a major deity. What really draws me to this one is the environment. The Chumash are the people of La Brea where they have lived since prehistory. That means Chumash maps could include such animals as ground sloths, dire wolves, Columbian mammoths, mastodons, and sabre-toothed cats alongside modern bison, pumas and pronghorns. Imagine maps inhabited by these animals with tar pits that your enemies can get stuck in. Turkeys could be reused as herdables. Australians: the Aborigines traditionally make use of some pretty grisly weapons like death spears, bladed boomerangs and wooden swords that can split a man’s head open. They also have a lot of great potential myth units like the bunyip, rainbow serpent, yarri (Queensland tiger), gunni (a horned wombat), yowie (Australian bigfoot), burronjor (dinosaur cryptid), and beowa (a friendly orca). If you really want to get whimsical, you could even throw in the drop bear (a modern hoax described as a killer koala). What’s more is aboriginal culture is even older than the Chumash, so their maps could also be populated by prehistoric animals like diprotodon, thylacoleo, megalania, wonambi and thylacine in addition to familiar modern animals like emus, kangaroos and cassow

Hello again, It’s been a while since my last post about my modding tool, CryBarEditor. It is now at version 1.3.9 with still planned features to be added in the future. You can find latest version here → Releases · CryShana/CryBarEditor · GitHub Since my last post, these have been the main changes to the editor: Reading scenarios (.mythscn) files, Scenario 3D viewer and editor Scenario Trigger exporting, converting Triggers → XS script and vice versa TMM 3D Preview with Textures Exporting TMM files (with TMA animations and DDT textures) into GLB format And then back GLB → TMM,TMA,DDT conversion Ability to easily tag attachment points in Blender for game to recognize them (check built-in blender export tips) Dependency viewer + Graph - right click any file to see all files it references, a nice visual graph FMOD support for playing FMOD sounds, exporting FMOD sounds from banks A separate CryBar.Cli project for any scripting purposes and automations you may want to do Auto-update , so the app can update itself when you want to! (won’t do it without your confirmation) XS to RM conversion improved, so it should work even for edge cases Quality of life changes: Quick Access bookmarks window, when you want to quickly jump between common files Advanced Export window + Export to option without having export dir selected Overriding export name Auto-opening in configured editor on export Better performance for bigger files like simdata.json You can see some screenshots of the on app on the page itself here - GitHub - CryShana/CryBarEditor: Age of Mythology Retold resource manager, BAR editor, modding tool · GitHub Hopefully this makes your modding easier than ever. I am still working on improving scenario editing capabilities and 3D modding tools to make it easier.

Please force hardware check every week, I don’t wanna lose because I’m facing some lagger playing at 30 fps making my game stutter despite getting a solid stable 250 fps. Ban these players on bad setups console and pc from general matchmaking. Put them in a pool with each ohter. Regularly force multiplayer benchmarks, at least once a week.

Title, no reason a god power of equal strength should cost less, also the snakes have no nest to kill. Ancestor should be 200 favor on 2nd cost, it comes an an age longer and is way stronger then scorpion nest. Why are they both 100 favor. Makes absolutely no sense.

No skill Norse players are abusing soldiers building walls and towers with no loss of efficacy. Towers should build 1/4 as slow as they do with workers, workers are being taken off eco for every other faction. Absolutely ridiculous that Norse players get to spam towers offensively at HALF COST and 0 loss of efficiency, they should have towers that are 1/2 as good as other factions with no melee attack. Sorry, you shouldn’t get half cost towers without a penalty. Especially when you released Aztecs and gave them trash siege. The same applies to walls, nothing but spamming walls - newslfash the faction that gets to spam walls with soldiers should have paper tissue walls not on parity walls.

Please add a hotkey for “Select all land military units on screen except siege” Siege is slow so usually you want to exclude it from army selection so that it doesn’t slow down your whole formation “Select all land military units on screen except siege and cavalry” would also be a good idea with similar reasoning. Cavalry is faster so it’d be nice to issue cavalry-specific orders without those being constantly overridden by orders for the whole group
