Hey, I like to imagine things for the game and my favorite civ, based on mythology and history. So I just want to share some ideas. Sadly I'm not a meta player, so I don't have a lot to add in strategy points or technology. Y'all can correct me on these points. Major God ideas: So Chinese are very good at turtling, so I think a Fourth Major God should focus on an aggressive playstyle Yu Huang or The Jade Emperor The Supreme Authority of Heaven. -God power: Protection of Ziwei Star (Purple Emperor Star), Enhance the resistence of selected military units over a period of time. The range of the god power get bigger over the ages. -God Blessing: Mandate of Heaven. Your territory is protected by the Will of Heaven, recovering from catastrophes. For every building destroyed, you regain 30% of their resource value. -Favored Land: Train millitary units faster. Ally units move faster on it -Mythic Age Demigod Hero: Princess Longji, riding a phoenix and fighting with twin flying swords. She have an aura that giver divine protection for ally millitary units Myth Units ideas Huli Jing or Fox Spirits Sadly we already have the Kitsune in the game, so I doubt they would repeat the technically same creature. But as hope is the last thing ever lost, let's try: A Classical Age fast myth unit that uses fox fire as a automatic projectile, in the form of colored wisps that float in the air. They can also bite on close range, but it causes less damage. The Huli Jing need to charge it through time. Their upgrade would improve the number of wisps and demage done. Their appearence, to differentiate them from kitsunes, could have a transparent colored woman's apparition over their fox bodies, and with the ability to speak (as they do in the Classic of Mountains and Seas) Bixi or Turtle Dragon Following the "Nine Sons of the Dragon" motiff, with the Yazi and Chiwen, I think this Son of the Loong would be interesting to use. Hii! I'm struggling to find good content online that goes into it. But are the dlc factions well designed? Like do they fit well next to the classics or do they feel kinda shoe horned in like China in the Extended Edition? I play casually, mostly against AI so things like balance are not that important too me. But I really liked how fleshed out they were, AoM got me super into Egyptian and Norse mythology as a kid and I was kinda hoping it could have that same spark for the new ones!

Frankly, if you don't punish the Poseidon within the first 5 minutes, he may just spam buildings and it's gg. People completely understimate Militia, they are great vs cav and deal with siege weapons, they tank fire for archers and ARE FREE!!!!!!!! Why is this god so broken. Case in point, here's the Militia stat (does profit from Upgrades mind you!): https://ageofempires.fandom.com/wiki/Militia_(Age_of_Mythology) ) And here is a freaking TIMED mini Myth Unit from a 3rd Age God Power or a 4th Age Myth Unit which EVEN THEN only creates them with a bit of luck: https://ageofempires.fandom.com/wiki/Minion Basically we are punished for Agressing on a Poseidon, and we are punished for Defending and losing map control... This God has everything, Defense, Offense, one of the best most spammable GPs in the game with Peace and Bronze....

If devs make wall building more satisfying then we'd see more of them at all levels of play and it would allow devs to have some more margin to buff RC (apparently often complained to be weak, which i can't wrap my head around), make poseidon not such a low effort "gotcha" ladder stomper and more of a skill matchup, fast raiding myth units have more counterplay etc -Having to re target vills manually to not waste time building un necessary wall segment feels bad (for example a 15g segment can be done 5 seconds faster if you just target the middle of the wall) -have numbers be real : a 15g middle wall segment shows 15sec build time when really it's 25. That 15g wall segment is costing over 50 resources if you take build and walk time into account... i think it's a huge cost - These unfinished but functionnaly useless wall segments are also unsatisfying to look at. - allow 18 g wall segments to be gateable, maybe even 15g ones ? - 6 gold segments (which are basically just pilons without any actual wall segment) should be merged into one building block I'm sure there are a few more ways to make wall building flow more naturally and not be this meticulous unsatisfying headache. Edit : to people thinking raid factions would become too weak with such a change, please consider that they can be buffed in others ways, i'd take 50% weaker walls any day over the clunky hasle we have to deal with rn. Just saying, having walls be artificially unsatisfying to build shouldn't be the crutch that allows raid factions to function. No ? ~ vindiCARES
