Boom. Yes, there goes our our town center. Don't worry, that is uh deliberate and that's supposed to happen. Uh welcome everybody. You'll notice a couple of things. Yes, uh the the game we are currently playing. Finally, we got around to playing the Wars of Liberty mod for the Age of Empires 3. The old school game. You'll notice this is based off the old school Age of Empires 3 game. And uh yeah, we're playing the Age the Wars of Liberty mod. Finally got round to playing it. And let me guys, let let me tell you guys how fun this was. I I had so much fun playing this game. I don't know where to start here. There's so much to go over. There's for starters, there's two main mods for Age of Empires 3. Okay, one is the Wars of Liberty, which is what I'm playing right now, and it's based off the old school Age of Empires 3 game. And then the other one is the Age of Pirates game, which is based off the new Age of Empires 3, so based off the DE game, which I will be playing as well. So, I really want to get round to these mods because so much work and effort has gone into these mods. Um, and I had so much fun playing this game. So, so much to go over. Let's go over. Yes, you'll notice this flag right here. We are playing as the Mauy. Now, I had a I spent a good couple of hours just going through all of the civilizations in this game. My god, there are so many civilizations in this game to play, and I decided to pick the Mouri. And and you'll see why I decided to pick the Mauy. Now, one thing to note, yes, our town center blew up at the start of that game, and that is supposed to happen because you you get these paths, we call them. I don't know how to pronounce that, but you they're they're like the Maui's town centers. And can we just appreciate the design of these pads? Look at look how cool that kind of very unique Mauy feel. Look at that artwork on that red door there. Such like such unique like detail has gone into this to really kind of make it feel like you're playin

Considerations on When To Avoid Guard Upgrades
So if you have 1 of a unit, it might seem questionable to research an upgrade for that unit. But what's the breakpoint?…
So if you have 1 of a unit, it might seem questionable to research an upgrade for that unit. But what's the breakpoint? How many units do you need for it to be "worth it"? I checked this out for Veteran once, which is simple math, but I also realized I was looking at Guard upgrades the wrong way. First, and quickly, the vet math: Based on base gather rates you need about 28 Musketeers to get the same value out of upgrading to Veteran than you'd otherwise get from just training more Musketeers with your resources (assuming you manually gather it all with equal access to the resources, which I know is unrealistic). For Guard, one might think the same math would apply (just 30 % more value per dude based on base stats/cost) - but there's a caveat. You're now already training Veteran dudes. This makes the Guard upgrade lower in value than it might seem on the surface ( 25 % relative increase in value rather than 30 %). Here's how the formula shakes out: Guard Musketeer tech costs 2200 Villager-Seconds, boosts Veteran Musks by effectively + 25 %. Alternatively, you can train ~ 25 Veteran Musks. This means you need 119 Veteran Musks for the Guard tech to give you the same volume of stats that you'd get from just macroing for more dudes. Imperial's even worse - grants a mere + 33 % marginal power gain over Guard, but costs 5500 VS. This means you need 185 musks for it to be of equal value to training dudes. However, there are some alternatives. The Portuguese Royal Guard tech for Musketeers, for example, garners + 10 % more than the usual Guard stats and for not too much more - 2750 VS for the + 40 % (+ 33.3 % relative to Vet) means you only need 93 vet musks on the field to break even, which is 26 fewer musks than normal Guard. This is a super simple look at this math ofc. The math changes depending on civ (Natives get cheaper unit techs) and other unit types (like artillery, which scale off of veteran stats as base). This also ignores every consideration for things like

Will Age of Empires 3 come to macOS??

Hello everyone, wonderful community. I’m new here, though I’ve been playing the AoE games for years (not competitively, as you might expect—I’m just someone who enjoys these RTS games). The thing is, for practical reasons, I have to use a Mac, and as you probably know, that operating system isn't exactly "gamer-friendly." However, a month ago, Feral Interactive’s port of "Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition" arrived on Steam. I’ve been playing it, and it’s fantastic. But I want more. Do you think a port of "Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition" will come to macOS ? I’d love to be able to play the AoE series without having to rely on third-party software (like CrossOver or Nvidia GeForce Now). https://www.ageofempires.com/news/age-of-empires-ii-definitive-edition-available-now-on-mac/ -- Hola a todos, hermosa comunidad.
