There’s a bug that prevents the cost of Heavy Cannons from being split into Influence and Coins if you research the “Improved Cannon Trade” technology first and then the “British Artillery Engineers” technology (British Alliance). This happens because the technology that assigns the Influence cost for Heavy Cannons is the same one that allows them to be produced in the Palace (DEAllegianceBritishArtillery). This can be fixed by assigning the Influence cost of Heavy Cannons in the base technology that changes the Influence cost for African civilization units (DEAfricanInfluenceCosts), in the same way it’s done with African Falconets, Culverins, and Mortars. It would be very simple to fix; for example, in the “DEAfricanInfluenceCosts” technology, the cost of Heavy Cannons should look something like this: (...) Cannon Cannon Cannon Or like this: (...) Cannon Cannon Cannon And the “DEAllegianceBritishArtillery” tech should end up looking something like this: 8277 103086 1500.0000 15.0000 UNOBTAINABLE resources\images\icons\techs\africans\alliances\british_artillery_engineers.png 103426 CountsTowardMilitaryScore Imperialize Cannon dePalace (I’m giving these examples only so that developers don’t have to waste time looking for the bugs or thinking about how to fix them)

The addition of all the new treasures and guardians is fantastic work. These new assets are great for the immersion of the new maps. However, there are still some rather apparent omissions and inaccuracies in what was seen with the treasures present in the beta. There are also several potential guardians that while not an obvious omission, could be used very extensively on not just the latest maps, but numerous ones in other regions. Water Treasures Since a lot of the new maps are barren islands it would be nice if a comparable level of work went into the water treasures. For the new barren maps there is not nearly enough to do on land, so adding ample water treasures provide an outlet for player attention. Repurposing some existing models for more nuggets like the flotsam one and adding Porbeagles as a Great White variant is a good start, but there is a lot more potential. New Nuggets Icebergs Having all these new arctic maps with icebreaker trade routes but no floating sea ice whatsoever is a huge miss. Icebergs should be a nugget for these maps and even ones further south as they can drift quite far before they melt. I even cobbled together some for the Ungava map I made using retextured boulders and visually it is a huge improvement to the looks and immersion. It would also be very entertaining to have a sneaky guardian version of icebergs. It could move super slow but deal massive damage to skink the ships of inattentive players who don’t keep a proper lookout and run into it. Ghost Gear Ghost gear is lost, abandoned, or derelict fishing gear such as nets, lines, or traps. A nugget with some free floating nets, lost paddle, and a lobster pot or damaged fish trap could add some variety. Driftwood / Log Jams If not an outright new resource there needs to be plentiful driftwood treasures on the sparse island maps. There are a handful

If your civ has a rush strat, always use it. People tend to try fast fortress that they have seen on internet without scouting , and even if they scout they don't use the info. If they don't fast fortress, usually they have some other slow strat without defenses, I won several matches with the guys just surrendering at 6 or 7 minutes cause they have nothing to stop my rush.

No matter if it is Japan, India, the USA or México, if a civ only got only 3 infantry units, they will be overpowered because they cannot be ballanced: OG european roster had a dedicated anti cavalry and anti infantry early game infantry in the forms of pikemen and crossbowmen and one of the incentives to transition from age II to age III was to aquire the superior versions of said units in the form of heldberdiers and skirmishers, which indeed were better at their roles but both att a cost of being more resource intensive and be specialist that fared worst against other thing beside their target; when a Civ had a universally good unit as German Doppelsoldner, then it was when the ballance of the civ required to remove a whole unit cathegory of their roster, musketeers in that case. Now lets compare it with Japan or India or Mexico. Salteadores, Yumi and Gurkha must be cheap enought to be afordable in age II but strong enough to be viable in age III and beyond, functionally swaping drawbacks for advantages, a stronger early unit and a cheaper late one. And since they lack dedicated pikemen and heldberdier, both their unique hand infantry and their musketter must cover both early and late game niches which results in the same situation as above. From all of this mess, I think the better ballance unit is the Mexican Soldado because it strains the player’s population count, which in early game tends to run on the lower limits. But, for some unholly reason, this very same civs with a unballanced roster had been granted with bonus upon bonus for a free eco. At least India’s Grazing and holy cows need some time to get going, but Japan’s houses literally trickle resources from minute 1, and the USA is the worst offender of them all because if you manage to get age V you can build your army at zero (0) cost due the minuteman button and the Texas forts.

I would like to ask the AOE3DE developers to please rename the Portuguese “Cassador” unit to “Caçador” in the English version of the game in a future patch. The spelling “Cassador” (with a double ‘s’) was a workaround from back in 2005, when the English version of AOE3 did not yet support diacritics like the cedilla (at least not to the extent seen in the Definitive Edition). It was a better alternative to “Cacadore,” a term that was intended to be used but sounded like broken Portuguese for “Hunter soldier.” However, now that English AOE3DE supports diacritics for unit names like “Jagunço” (using the cedilla), it is possible to replace the “ss” with “ç” in the name “Cassador.” Therefore, I’m doing this request to fix one of the oldest foreign ortography issues in the game.

It just looks so utterly ridiculous to have 11th century crusaders in chainmail among riflemen and cannons. Maybe he could start out looking like that, but by age 3 or 4 why can’t they look like the guy on the DLC’s box art? He looks so awesome and much more period-appropriate.

It's ability to just counter practically anything is insane, and it is such a low effort trick to pull off too. Melee units are practically useless because of how powerful kiting is. Ironically the only time melee is truly useful is when defending kiting units so even if by chance you catch up to them you're still fucked. The worst part is they're nerfing snares, so they're BUFFING kiting.

What does civilization mean in the context of AoE3? Civilization is a term used to represent a culture, a people and an origin that a player can pick and play. Culture means a distinct identity, history and values tied to a specific geographical region. People are the groups of individual carrying this culture, or linked so strongly to it by historical, ethnic and linguistic ways. Origin means a geographical place that can be considered as home in a broad sense to the aforementioned people. Therefore, the naming of a civilization is the name of the most important and representative ethnic group that shares and inhabit the traits listed above. A civilization is thus an umbrella (ex. the Indians), but its name may well be the opposite of it (ex. the Poles). An independent political state is not synonymous of a civilization, but may help it legitimize it's presence in the game (see point 6) and is important to take into account for defining the civilization's military aspects and the coherence of them. That's why a civilization is often associated with (not centered on) an/several important and independent enough political entity(ies). What exactly is our role when playing a civilization? A player playing a civilization assumes the role of building a new settlement by the people of that civilization in a place that is generally not the place of origin of these people. Therefore, not only the player starts without much, but must also survive against and defeat enemies' growing settlements. What does a settlement represent then? A settlement represents the effort of a people to take full military control of a region (map). A settlement is diplomatically and spiritually symbolized by a leader personality arbitrarily picked from the region of origin of the civilization played, usually a political figure of an important state. A settlement starts from almost nothing but receive support from the metropole. What does the metropole represent? The metropole is a city inhabited
