I’m pretty new and I when reach Age 4 I do fine but I’m never sure what to do early game and if people rush me early in I’m dead

Im gonna come clean, ive been an ottoman meat rider and apologist for the longest time but this civ is just too stacked. The dev needs to do more than nerf Sipahi a bit and call it a day. I legit dont know how do you beat an ottoman timing push with free mang+jan. Its too many free units at the same time. The casters were mentioning this strat during EGCTV and i finally understand why it is broken. It's up to 2200/2800 of free resource in 1 go + the free units military school produces throughout the ages + the units the ottoman players make. The deathball is way too strong, especially when you consider the Mether buffs+AOE healing Imam.

This has been present since the start of the game. Since it hasn’t been fixed, I’m not sure if it’s still considered a bug by now, or if it is some sort of game limitation. But, I didn’t see it reported anywhere, so I’m reporting it here just in case it is a bug and has been forgotten about. The fishing dialogue is present in the game files, so it’s strange that it’s not used. Anyone else experiencing server issues? I know there was downtime yesterday. When i log in my profile pic does not load, it says im disconnected and to check the notification panel to relog in? I've closed the game out, restarted, etc.

Were you able to reach that level if you are solo queueing or it was ups and downs (I mean better have friends to play with) ? Also were you playing 2v2 or 3v3 or 4v4 ? which one of these are the most fun and more "balanced" ? Thanks !

soooo I have enjoyed watching him play the last week, since his skill-level reflects that of mine. and he is able to talk while playing and kind of "self-commentate", which for example Beasty doesn't quite manage to do. however, he quickly gets frustrated/tilted then rage quits without saying GG. seems like poor form in general , but especially for someone who is being livestreamed and players are taking etiquette/mannerism ques from KP if you're reading this - say GG before rage quitting a game no matter how titled you are. it shows good sportsmanship and creates a better community vibe

AoE4 is a bit closer to AoE2 on Steam Charts. The gap might be even smaller if you combine the player counts for Microsoft and Steam, but I couldn't find the numbers for Microsoft. In any case, the new DLC featuring Vikings and Scots could be a turning point, given the strong appeal of these civilizations. P.S.: I'm looking forward to the Scottish soundtrack. I wonder if we'll have the traditional bagpipes.

I never thought I'd see such bullshit. It's basically a 3v4 for my team because the rng made it so that the mountain side you pass through has trees spawning on it.

I've finally done it, I've reached Conq 3 in team games with mostly random (although I did cheat a little at the end thank you Corvinus1). My strat was to mostly go fast castle with Ayyubid into agression. Spam a bunch of stables and make Camel Lancers and Camel Raiders while getting all relics on the map.

Hey, I played 6 ranked games this morning in Gold and lost all of them. The weird thing is that every single opponent was somewhere between account level 40 and 60, but they felt way better than that. Is smurfing a big issue in AoE4 at the moment? Or did I just get super unlucky today and need to git gud? Just wondering if anyone else is running into this.

I couldn't keep my army alive, and I couldn't get a comp to work. I had double the vil count, he maxed around 50 vils! Still I could not keep up. What army comp should I have gone with? Hello, I used to play Byz while back and would like to try the game again. I wanted to ask about current opening and playstyles of Byz. When I used to play usually the build was 2s, 1g, and after a while +1g you build cisterns and age up with winery into either feudal play or castle LB + Catas. Is it still basically the same? I saw that LB batch have cost reduced but also -1 LB. Thanks for any tips and /3

I went to check Stormgate subreddit just because I was curious to see what was (if anything) happening there now that it's been discontinued. The top post for me was this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Stormgate/s/iipuin2bY9 The guy is asking how Stormgate innovative netcode ended up feeling across regions. People saying it felt laggy and the top comment mentioning aoe4 strategy input lag to even out the experience and replacing an unpredictable behavior with a "trained one". I just found it interesting how a lot of players came to aoe4 and complained or even left the game for the same reason this person (and other commenters) is praising.

Hi everyone, so aoe4 is finally getting out of these dark ages we lived through 2024-2025. We are getting new civs, we just got a new campaign, great. Things are moving forward again. However. There are some issues that should be, well, made priority before we get the next age of empires game, we know things are moving behind the scenes as Worlds Edge and Forgotten Empires are looking out for UE developers so before moving to the next aoe game, i think its time to seal the deal with aoe4 in a good note, that has a couple of implications. 1-) Modding Situation So modders need their complete tool, remember, the tool is still in beta with little to almost no changes in the last 3 years, a situation that should not continue being as it is. Modding is the backbone of any game that wishes to survive the test of time and age of empires 4 needs to get their things together in this matter, changes need to be done. Lots of players have been asking for a while for spanish civilization too… Eastern europe is also missing the lithuanian and polish common wealth, hungary… America is not represented at all either, and we have some really cool empires to represent in the americas, like the incas and aztects. So basically my friends just bougth aoe 4 and we all play on PlayStation. When they finished the tutorial i tried to invite them in my group but it said they didnt have the same crossplay settings as me. So they changed them but it kept saying that anyway. Then my account went offline and my friends too. I tried multiple things to fix it but nothing works. So i deleted the game and re installed it and my friend too and now we are totally locked outside the game and i cant play no more and he cant too. It gives this error that basically says that i am offline or that i didnt log in on PlayStation network. I tried anything but i literally cant play anymore and i dont know what to do, so if Someone could tell me what to do or help me i would really appreciate it. (sorry if the image text is in italian)
