Deep in the mossy hollow, where the trees grow close and the light forgets to follow, we made camp beside something we shouldn't have. A skull the size of a boulder rests half-sunk in the earth, jaw slack, sockets full of shadow. Below it, iron-dark coils loop and knot into the ground — armor plating, or something that once was armor, now fused with root and stone like the forest swallowed it centuries ago and never finished the job. The campfire throws its small orange light against a titan's jawbone and gives up before it reaches the eyes. The old tribes have a name for what came before the gods. They do not speak it after dark. Something this size does not simply die. It sleeps. Or it waits.

Heyho I would love to ask for some insight on raiding in this game. I come from AoE4 PvP, but watched most Age of Empires. In Age 2, a few archer, a scoutball or a knight on vills dominate and you need to react. Lategame Hussars into economy are a pain in the piano In Age 3, i didnt see as much raiding, more deathballs. there, the vills are quite strong afaik. In Age 4, very close to 2, but as we have homing missiles and early knights, looks a bit different. Still, vills are to be munched Now in AoM Retold, these vills munch ME. I tried the following: Poseidon or Tsukoyomi with early cav to deny hunt. this kinda works, but vill go down sooooooo slow. Very little kills, feels like a lot of micro for little outcome Set with spearmen, maybe 4 or so into a greek goldmine. The vills turned around and toasted my bois Amaterasu with the whirly weasels. tried three together on a goldmine with an ox cart and multiple dwarfs. Put them to like 20% hp and my weasels were not able to chase. Still i see a lot of raiding happen in plays from Husksuppe or orthers. Maybe I am too focused on the kill. How to approach from another perspective, how do you gain leads?

So I'm a returning player, I never was top top player, but on Extended Edition I managed to get to over 2k in competitive 1v1. I know the basics ands more in general. I have completed all the campains on Absurd level so I'm willing to return to multiplayer and have a similar degree of success to what I use to had. However even tho I played the japanese and the Aztec campaign I didn't really learnt much how they work and their counters. Also I used to eb a Loki main. I realized now there is no hersir spam as all units spam myths unit, and so more small change in every God. So i would appreciate a brief summary or videos that I could watch so I can win some 1v1 games.
