​Hi everyone, Do you miss those turn-based mechanics and 2D graphics? I thought I’d ask if we could create a mode for Age of Empires 4 similar to Age of Kings DS, with improved graphics. Read below ​I am a huge fan of Age of Empires IV, but I also deeply cherish a very unique title from the franchise’s past: Age of Empires: The Age of Kings, which was released years ago on the Nintendo DS. ​As many of you might remember, that version wasn’t an RTS, but a fantastic turn-based tactical strategy game (featuring grid-based movement, heroes, and resource management). I truly believe that formula had massive potential, which unfortunately remained untapped after the DS era. ​I would absolutely love to see that concept revisited with a modern touch. Given the success of AoE IV and the incredible asymmetry of its civilizations, it would be amazing if the developers considered introducing a special turn-based game mode, or perhaps a “tactical” spin-off utilizing those mechanics. It would offer a completely new, more relaxed yet deeply strategic way to enjoy the game’s universe—perfect for calculated sessions and for players who love games like Fire Emblem or Advance Wars. ​What do you all think?
