1.It costs too much to advance dynasties In 1v1 matches,most games end while players are still in Tang or Song Dynasty. It’s really hard to reach later dynasties. Advancing dynasties costs massive resources,and most landmarks are weak with low returns. Even if you can reach dynasties, saving up resources to age up further is usually the better play. 2.Dynasty units are too weak Fire Lancers and Grenadiers just got buffed—Grenadiers multiple times, in fact. But they’re still garbage no one ever uses.Fire Lancers lack armor and damage but expensive. They can neither support frontline fights nor raid villagers, as defensive buildings take them down instantly. They are even worse than regular Horsemen.Similarly, Grenadiers lack sufficient damage, making them inferior to Hand Cannoneers in most matchups. Zhu Xi fares slightly better with them, yet even he would opt for Hand Cannoneers if available. A well-designed civilization should have every unique unit serve a clear purpose, every faction trait fully viable, all landmarks evenly picked, and all unique techs practical and worthwhile. Military and economic strength should also stay properly balanced.Chinese ranks among the least complete civilizations. It relies on its lopsided economy to mass generic units with no special bonuses to secure victories. Zhu Xi and Jin Dynasty are stuck in the same situation. In 1v1 matches, players hardly produce large numbers of Shaolin Monks (even though they are the core themed units) and Imperial Guards, while Jin players never win by relying on Iron Pagoda (even though it is a cavalry civilization) and Bed Crossbows.

My game crashes everytime without any warning/screen while trying to login a custom lobby. Started occuring after latest patch. Anyone? Any idea?

The move speed stat continue the same and animation/seen walk speed is the same. Trigger Event: Griot bara food festival activation It happens always. no matter the condiitons. Griot bara food festival doesn`t change vil move speed at all Repro Steps: I tested using skirmish mode I went to age 4 with griot bara landmark Enable food festival, check villager walk speed. Nothing change The description says it increasees villager move speed, so is either a bug or the description is wrong

I love the Jin Dynasty. I’ve been playing them almost exclusively since the DLC released. But god, the grassland posts that spawn whenever you finish building a landmark are one of the most annoying mechanics I’ve had to deal with in all of AoE4. I like perfecting builds, but these things can completely throw them off because they very commonly spawn on top of straggler trees and destroy them. This is terrible for quite a few builds, 2TC for example. Sometimes you’re happily chopping the trees, then the post destroys them, and suddenly you have to build a lumber camp just to get the last bit of wood you need. Also, when you build the Grand Pasture, you obviously want the grassland right next to it so it’s within influence range and you can actually use the horses. But sometimes the posts spawn so far away that none of them are close enough to influence the landmark, forcing you to build another stable, which you don’t necessarily always want to do. So yeah, sorry for the rant. I just wanted to get this off my chest. And yes, I’m writing this right after getting screwed over by a post destroying the last straggler tree I needed for a second TC.

Hey all, I mainly play Ottoman and have been getting overwhelmed by the house of Lancaster Earl/Spear/arrow rush or the English Longbow/Spear/Ram rush. As an Ottoman player - any tips? Open military school or rush to feudal and pump units? Or need to be extra aggressive and hit their resources. Thanks all!

So those of us who have been following the pro scene knows that Bee was always innovative, countered Beasty quite hard, but was always not "there" yet. We always wanted Bee to be amazing. The question is: How awesome does it feel to get "there" by beating ML?

There’s a French event happening this weekend called the ZLAN, a LAN organized by one of the biggest French content creators and event organizers: Zerator. This year, Age of Empires IV is included, and when I heard about it, I was really excited to see AoE on such a big event. But honestly, the format and rules they chose are terrible. First, there are 100 duos (so 200 players total). The format is FFA, but teammates are not even in the same game. Every 5 minutes, players have to stand up and switch seats with their teammate. That part is fine I guess—ZLAN is known for chaotic rules—but the second rule completely ruins it: At 45 minutes, the game just ends, and the player with the highest score wins. This completely kills the whole point of FFA. Everyone just camps and masses units to inflate their score, without ever attacking each other, since there’s absolutely no reason to attack—it would just make you lose score. Even more, it’s well known in Age of Empires that you should never rely on score, because it doesn’t really mean much. Obviously, Chinese players had an advantage since they can build 6 landmarks, which boosts their score even more. Later in the event, when fewer players remained, it switched to 2v2 Nomad—but with the same time limit and score-based win condition. These ended up being some of the least interesting AoE games I’ve ever seen. I don’t want to beat a dead horse about the event, I just came out of it pretty disappointed .AoE4 format turned FFA into a passive score-farming simulator...

If you wanted to explain the three main advantages of each civ to a new player in as few words as possible, how would you describe them? Ayyubids: Tempo, flexibility, manjaniq. English: Farms, defense, late game. Ottoman: Flexibility, anti-cav, siege.

1- Is there a button that says "when you spawn a unit assing it to group x" Like when i spawn a unit from stable assing it to group 1 2- How do unassign units from groups? 3- Is there a attack button but for only troops?
