Hello, some thoughts i wish they could get more attention. Things that other RTS have, but AoE4 is missing and is super important for the game: Tickrate: ZeroSpace, Sc2, Tempest Rising, almost every other RTS has better Tickrates. Company of Heroes 3 wich is on the same engine as AoE4 had an update, where they increased the Tickrate immensely. Pls update the Tickrate on AoE4. It feels so sluggish to play AoE4 and it is very noticable. Commands getting lost: Somehow a lot of commands getting lost in the game. Shift-queue but also normal commands. Also some notification. This had to do a lot with my first point, the tickrate. Jumping to Control groups with Units all over the place: AoE4 is the only RTS i know so far (besides the other AoX RTS Games) where you jump in between Units of the group if the units are seperated on the map. It doesn’t make any sense. If you for example have Knights in the base of your enemy and than coming out of your base, you have them both in one control group, you jump in middle of nowhere with your cam. In other RTS Games you just jump where most of the units are, and not in between of them into nomansland. Coop Missions like the new ZeroSpace Planetary Event: Could be cool to have something like that in AoE4? Players already getting crazy fighting over Planets and stuff I think it would be better to have something like that, instead of releasing too many civs. Quikmatch with ranked Ladder Mappool against Ranked ppl: We know this system from Sc2. Let us queue in QM and have the same ranked ladder mappool like in ranked. You even play against the others in ranked. This will increase the playerbase in “Ranked/Unranked”, because very often, ppl want to play a new civ, test things out, and don’t want to stress about ranked points. It also will decrease smurf accounts. I think this will boost the ranked Games a lot! Also you could play with lower league friends in QM without loosing your ranked points and still having fun! Title: [Map Generation Bug] Waterlanes spawned without safe/accessible starting gold Game Version: Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition / Standard / Steam version Build Number: 16.2.10884.0 Platform: Steam Operating System: Windows 11 Issue: In a match on Waterlanes , my side spawned without accessible/safe starting gold, making it impossible or extremely unfair to age up normally. Map: Waterlanes Game Mode: 1v1 QuickMatch Civilization: Mongols Opponent Civilization(s): Golden Horde Map Seed: [if available] Biome: [if available] Date/Time: 20/06/2026 4:25 GMT +2 Description: There was no gold deposit on my side / near my starting area, while the opponent had normal access to gold. This prevented normal progression to Feudal Age and created an unfair starting condition. I can provide replay/screenshots if needed. Trigger Event: The issue was present from the start of the match, immediately after the map generated. After scouting/checking my starting area, I noticed there was no accessible or safe gold deposit on my side of the map. Repro Steps: Start a match on Waterlanes . Use the same settings as the affected match: Game mode: QuickMatch Number of players: 2 Civilization:Mongols Opponent civilization(s):Golden Horde Map seed: [insert if available] Biome: [insert if available] Once the game starts, check the starting area around the Town Center. Scout the nearby safe side of the map. Observe that there is no accessible/safe starting gold deposit on my side. Expected Result: Each player should spawn with access to a safe or reasonably accessible starting gold deposit, allowing normal progression to Feudal Age. Actual Result: My side spawned without accessible/safe starting gold, while the opponent had normal access to gold. This made it impossible or extremely unfair to age up normally. Greetings to all forum members, I hope you are all well. While I was browsing the forums and some YouTube channels, I realized that quite a few people have requested a massive change to the graphics engine of Age of Empires IV. I understand that since its release, it hasn’t convinced a large part of the community, and for that reason, the title wasn’t well-received at launch. In fact, I include myself in that group, since I only bought the game when the price dropped and the anniversary edition was released. That being said, what do you think about the graphics engine of Age of Empires IV? Do you think it should stay as it is, or do you think it should be updated? If your answer is that it should be updated, do you think the developers are aware of this issue through the community? Do you think they plan to update the game’s graphics engine, or do you think that graphics are something the developers have never considered for this title and therefore have made it clear they won’t address it now or in the future? Let me know your thoughts on this topic, which has been a subject of debate for years since the release of Age of Empires IV.
