Suggestion / Feature Request / Wish List We have 4 slots for Formation. Line Wedge Spread Box (Default) Would like to see an additional 4 - 6 formations to have a pool of 8 - 10 to choose from, then a player could choose their favourite 4 formations to add to their military tool bar from the main menu / options? Impact on Multiplayer May add a new dynamic to military engagements and micro. Allow for unique playstyles. Each player could be using similar but not the same formations that suit their playstyle. Impact on Single player? Would look good! How it could be implemented: Pre-determined from the main menu and only 4 formations can be chosen / assigned to a player profile, cant be changed in game. Formations to consider: Column (we already have this in Navy) Square Box (Open Center to protect an e.g. monk with relic) Split Formation (splits your comp into two flanking groups as seen in AOE2) Wedge Left Wedge Right Guerrilla Formation ( a formation that mixes units randomly) Others / Unique Formations / Faction Unique Testudo Formation Schiltron Formation (circle / square) Thanks!

Platform: Xbox / PlayStation Issue: alert button not working Alert button doesn’t work all of the time. Almost always works when scout is attacked but when villagers are it rarely works. Seems to be worse in ranked games than against AI.

Pretty much the title. Beasty and Whamen did an unbelievable job with this tournament and I highly recommend anyone who is missing it - GO WATCH IT. You may ask, why is this one so special? Why not Red Bull for example? It has more money and better production value. Well, there are several reasons: 1) Atmosphere. It’s just… wholesome? Even though there is big buck one the line, because it’s a long (6 days!) tournament players hang out and do dumb shit together. Which is very different from super high stakes serious games from other tournaments and I love it 2) Additional activities. Very much connected to the first point, there are many mini games already and planned. Poor Lash and his leg 3) Games. Best part of the tournament by far! Having actively monitore the pro scene I was expecting games to be close, but damn. These guys are extremely close in skill to one another. Bee and Luci being the underdogs a bit are rolling over people and you legit can’t predict who will win Big shout out to Cow and his Paint skills and to Core the Caster. Tldr. Homestead cup (2 days in so far) has a very wholesome atmosphere and great games and I suggest everyone to watch it

My friends and I started playing AoE4 2 days ago and my friend playing the English always wins by producing a huge army that no one can counter. Is there a way to defend or cripple him early even though he produces really strong archers to attack our bases during the second age ?

Need an offensive buff, they deal barely any more damage than baseline ones and the bonus health doesn’t do much as they can still be focused down by archers quickly.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Day 2 of Homestead Cup is in the books, and boy was it a good one! There were AOE 4 players slapping each other in the face (with tortillas ), ripping hair off of Lash's leg, several amazing giveaways , and, believe it or not, some incredible AOE4 gameplay! Speaking of which, let’s do a quick recap of the games! We started the day in Group A with a showdown between 1PuppyPaw and LucrifroN7. One half of the Canadian bros and one half of the Spanish bros … Puppypaw gave Sengoku their first win of the tournament in match one on Dry Arabia, but Lucifron won the next three in a row to win the series 3-1. Lucrifron moves to 1-1 in the group stage, and Puppypaw falls to 1-1 in the group stage! Staying in Group A, MarineLorD took on Anotand in a matchup that a lot of people hoped to see at a previous LAN contest. This best-of-5 required all 5 games to complete. In true back-and-forth fashion, the players traded wins and went into the final match on Costal Cliffs 2-2. In the end, MarineLorD’s Sengoku took the map and the series. MarineLorD will move into day 3 an impressive 2-0. Over in Group B, the first series of the day pitted VortiX vs Beastyqt. Both players entered the series 0-1 and were looking for a win to keep them in the hunt for the next stage. Beasty’s Byzantine held in game 1, but VortiX’s English bested Beasty’s HRE in game two in what was a match of OG civs. Ultimately, Beasty took the series 3-1 with back-to-back wins. The other match from Group B pitted Wam01 and 3D!Bee against each other. Both players won their series on their first day and were looking to stay perfect. In game 1, Bee reminded us why Ottomans are typically banned and went up 1-0 over Wam’s Byzantine. However, Wam evened the series up with Sengoku in game two, meaning Sengoku lost all of their matches yesterday, but won all of them today for an overall score of 3-2 through two days of tournament play. I had only played once, when the DLC released, but I got angry with the mode due to the bug that made you lost progress. I didn't play again until today and... It's this normal? Is the mode still bugged? I only received 324 perk points and I completed some stuff in the mastery that didn't unlock. What is happening?

Hey guys I recently got the DLC w TD and was wondering if anyone had any tips or timings they've worked out in the early to mid game? I've been watching the build orders and trying them but they feel kinda inefficient compared to the more meta civs, wondering if that's because theyre new and haven't been fully figured out? Anyway any tips you guys might have I'd really appreciate.

Hi I picked up this game to play with some pals but I’ve never really been much of a pc gamer and I’m quite slow physically. With the best will in the world I’ll never get above 60 actions per minute. What is the best play style to negate this disadvantage as much as possible, I play team games mainly.

There have been some discussions around Mongol buffs recently, and I think I have suggestions that have not been brought up before. This is coming from my experience of start playing AoE4 ranks with Mongol and they are still my most played civ (currently I'm at 1400 Elo). Most discussions I have seen here focus mostly on the Unique units (Keshik, Mangudai). Although those needs some buffs, I think Mongol also suffer from something else. Many of their civs bonus are gated behind clunky or impractical barriers (improve techs is the most egregious case). So, I have come up with some ideas to buffs Mongol not numerically, but in many small areas across the board. Landmarks are also another issue that they have and I have some suggestions for those too. Buffs 1. Enable civs bonus/unique unit that are currently locked behind techs or Landmarks. - Yam network: I think locking it behind castle tech or LM is outdated, considering that new civs hav many mechanic with similar power level but with no barriers. This tech is quite crucial to Mongol defense, as they have no walls and are more likely to have to run their vils when facing raids (they still have to build tower). Just make it their inherent civ bonus. - Khan hunter's: similar to Yam network, several civs already have units that buffs their army with similar level of power (Japan, Sengoku, Ottoman) or the buffs they unlock are more powerful from LM (Macedonian). Mongol should be able to just produce them. A way to make this unit more interesting; they could make it so that this unit replace their scout (with lower attack damage and reduce cost), and can be build in both archery range and stable. - Quick unpacking from the tech Superior mobility: the move speed of building should remain the same without the upgrade but there is no reason for the long unpack time, it's just unnecessarily unpleasant. 2. Changes to their Landmarks Most of their Landmarks need some update in my opinion I think they are all underpowered or c

I feel the issue with Jin is death by a thousand cuts: great ideas on paper that are so close to greatness, but are just off the mark. At the same time, I feel like this is not a problem a "make the numbers bigger" would solve, at least not without potentially making them TOO good. Here the biggest changes I would make and a short explanation why. I expect counter-arguments, but don't be a dick please and thank you. Bed Crossbow: Now more expensive, base damage reduced, anti-melee bonus increased, deals SIEGE damage and not ranged (this being the big change). The bed crossbow is begging to be a staple in the Jin arsenal, but a HUGE issue is the fact it attacks twice. The idea is that both shots together deal more damage than a standard Springald, the problem is that each shot will be independently nerfed by ranged armor, which makes its damage against even lightly armored units abysmal. Giving them Siege damage, like Grenadiers, and then balancing the damage output around its bonus would be a great way to fine tune them without it being overpowered. Mohe Tribesman: Deals bonus damage vs Villagers. The existence of the Bed Crossbow, especially if it were buffed, leaves the MT with nothing to do, but it can fill a niche that Jin presently doesn't have. Jin doesn't have any especially good "raider" units that are cost effective in early ages as Iron Pepega are too expensive and deal lower damage (harder to snipe vills). They are also not very good when alone against other knights. Making the Mohe a low-cost, low-hp, vill sniper to stall opponents while you build eco in the background would give a good option for Feudal aggression. Additionally, it can provoke opposants into making archers, which are countered by Pepega's and Horseman. Iron Pagodas: Splash increased from 0.29 tiles to 0.5. No damage dropoff on edge of splash. I keep seeing people argue that “Spain” does not fit AoE4 because Spain was not fully unified for most of the medieval period. But honestly, I think that argument falls apart when you look at how AoE4 already handles civilizations. AoE4 civilizations are not frozen snapshots of one exact century. They are often broad historical arcs. The English are probably the easiest example. AoE4’s English go from an Anglo-Saxon-inspired early identity into Anglo-Norman, English Gothic, and eventually Tudor themes. That is a huge historical transformation inside one civilization. France is similar. The French civ represents a broad arc from the early medieval/post-Carolingian world through Capetian France, the Hundred Years’ War era, and into early modern France. “France” in the 800s was not the same political reality as France in the 1500s, but AoE4 still treats it as one civilization because the game is representing a long-term historical identity. The Abbasids are another good comparison. The Abbasid civ represents a larger caliphal and Islamic Golden Age legacy, even though the political reality of the Abbasids changed dramatically over time, especially after the fall of Baghdad. It is not just one clean state in one clean period. The Holy Roman Empire is also not a modern nation-state. It was a complex imperial structure made up of many regions, princes, bishops, cities, and identities. Yet AoE4 includes it because it has a recognizable medieval identity. China is another obvious example because the civ literally compresses multiple dynastic phases into one civilization identity. The game already accepts that civilizations can evolve across centuries. So when people say, “Spain was not unified yet,” I think they are applying a standard that AoE4 does not really apply to its own civ roster. A Spanish civ could easily represent the Christian Iberian arc from Visigothic legacy, Asturias, León, Castile, Aragón, Navarre, the Reconquista, and eventually the Catholic Monarchs. The

House of Lancasters resource generation with manors appears to be bugged. The expected value per proc is (30+4v)/7,5 food and (10+2v)/7,5 wood (resources are generated every 8 seconds with v villagers). By this calculation we should get 25,33F and 12W per proc, but as seen in the picture we actually get ~19F and ~12W. So either the description text of the manor or the food calculation seems to be wrong. This has probably been in the game since their rework in october, but definitely before the last major patch.
