Greetings, I think it would be neat if you brought in the Egyptians. They could even be an Ottoman hybrid civ, since the Ottomans conquered Egypt and held onto some of the Egyptian culture. They could also be an entirely new faction that would come with their own campaign, similarly to how you did the Jin Dynasty, showcasing their war with the Ottomans.

This is the mod for introducing the Korean Civ. They have these monks which are AI controlled, patrolling around the landmark, and they don't take population slots. Surprisingly this mod has existed for 2 years!? If so, it came well before the Meng'an Mouke and the Jin. Have the devs use this as inpiration?

I consistently have more vils and float fewer resources but get outmatched in econ and mil. This is despite significant early cav harassment and vil kills I inflicted on him. What am i doing wrong??

Add new boons to let players push the population cap all the way to 300. Add additional maps to The Crucible mode. Make The Crucible maps larger in overall playable area. Introduce more random events, neutral units, hostile enemy camps, and treasure sites across The Crucible maps. Introduce more unique and engaging boon mechanics. Allow players to build non‑wall ancient fortifications such as wooden stakes and barricades. Add more terrain‑driven tactical mechanics that let players make full use of terrain features to counter enemy forces. Give players the option to pick their preferred player color in The Crucible, instead of locking them permanently to blue. Add the ability to save and resume ongoing Crucible runs, so players can pause and continue their playthrough later. Allow reduced unit population cost that applies only to The Crucible, without affecting standard multiplayer or other game modes. 0 voters

Currently playing the campaign on intermediate and just finished the first two missions in the Hundred Years’ War. While I’m not having any problems I’m more curious what an optimal army comp would look like? I currently do a 1:1:1 of barrack/stable/archery range units which works fine. Should I focus certain gold units (knights and MOW) over their lumber equivalents (mounted spearmen and spearmen)? Should I forgo barracks completely and just do horses and archers? Also, Archers or Crossbowmen? Thanks for helping a noob.

I’m new to AoE4, and tried some skrimishes, the last one in teams of 2; the best AIs, and my buddy had also the resource gain boost. Some things that I have seen: -the AIs eventually give up and do nothing, not even farming food to trate on market -buddy’s church got destroyed, so I helped with the repairs; he put in only 2 of the 3 relics, his priest just ignored the 3rd one -in general, relics and sheep untouched even late endgame, even if the relic is next to their base I do not want to play multiplayer, as I want a game that I can pause at will, but would love an AI that is worthy of being called “Intelligence”.

Reposting because apparently r/ageofempires 4 says this sub is better. Alright, I’m sick of the team aspect of league of legends. 9/10 games are just lost because you get the idiot team. So I am looking for a competitive game that is solely based on my skill alone. The options are AoE or Street Fighter 6 I think. I also downloaded StarCraft 2 but haven’t got a chance to play it because I’m spending all my damn time facing A.I in 1v1 skirmishes on AoE4. I’m loving this game. Obviously the games are different but I’m hoping there will be a little bit of skill, even if it’s just comfortability on a mouse and keyboard that transfers to AoE. My question is, what is the fundamental skills I should be practicing? I will probably play English because best beginner friendly civ, or so I’ve read/heard. I’ve looked up some build order guides as well as looking up timings. Example being, beginning your first age up around 2:45. So yeah any tips, tricks and fundamentals I should know?

I killed the enemy's scout, he forfeit immediately. Is such a tiny setback that daunting to some people? (I don't know why it doesn't show the 'SURRENDERED' banner on the recording).

his crazy rage started when I killed 2 monarchs, 1 very early I did scout and trap into a woodline, finishing him off with an early knight in feudal as Rus. In picture 2 he griefs on I am map hacking when I am literally Rus, I did get like 5 scouts in dark age to scout for another player who left early and wanted to locate his other monarch. He just continues to grief and insult (rat, cancer) over the whhhoooole match up, in an 8 player free for all? Can a man not enjoy a ffa anymore? This is getting ridiculous. Like...I get it for 1v1 ranked competitive we all get a bit carried away sometimes but this? Sheeesh

I recently played a game where i was completely winning, but i had an important phone call, and pauses in hope that my opponent would respect my need for the pause (ranked solo game) I come back after 2mins and i have lost 40 vills and im in a state where i no longer can win the game. To make the matter worse dude shit talked me and left without even a ggs... This made me wonder if there is alot of people that dont respect the pauses, because i always let the opponent unpause themselves (unless it takes over 10 mins is my rule of thumb). Usually also ask in allchat if everything is good. What is your opinion? Is it worth respecting the pause, or should one be rude and unpause just to win games for free? For the lots that have commented. I did say that i needed a minute, and i was not expecting the call at all, it was from my daughters school.

Imo, Dragon Pavilion is the most annoying landmark in the game. As Jin ages up it starts shitting knights from every corner. If only it were TCs and Lanmark it would've been fine but... towers and trade posts? This is so annoying. It gives them crazy map control, it's so hard to deal with. I don't understand how to play agains this "F-tier" abomanation. Haven't won a single game in solo ranked vs Jin so far...

I get it, that there are several approaches to play the game. Depending on spawn, map, enemy civ. The posted play is repeatable every game, no matter what. It's not like the 2tc English because you are securing a deer pack in feudal and have manors that boost your eco insanely goog. It's like playing abbassid with no disadvantages. What's the strategy game behind repeating a build every game? IYou can't dark age rush this civ because of shortbows. You can't attack in feudal because of Lancaster Castle, double TC fire and manor fire. You have to outgreed it, I get it. But when you play a weak economic civ, you are dead from the start. Besides the opponent can pull demilancer and raid you... What's with the newer civs? It seems like they have no disadvantages...

It is embarrassing for the game that it takes 4ever for them to fix bugs. For example, they still haven't restored villager kills to the after game stats page, a bug that was introduced LAST year. This is so damn frustrating. I really wish they could prioritize stuff like this, instead of just leaving it, it makes the game feel stale and forgotten. And, if a dev reads this, when you fix this, why don't you just add a 2nd kill/loss column, eco kills and losses. This is such an important stat that now isn't even tracked in the global kills. Embarrassing for the game imo
