I'm around 1000 elo and half of the games the opponent builds a fort in their base or plays very defensively, they very rarely seem to rush, raid or attack early.

At this moment, aside from US and Mexico that can guarantee their unique outlaws, only Germans that get their own version of Theatres (allowing inquisitors instead of Ronins). Dutch kind of do to as they have historical employment of Japanese mercenaries as well as a way to guarantee highwaymen in the tavern. Why does everyone else share the Ronin? The game grew so much since this decision was made, new outlaws and mercenaries yet so few ways to include them in civilisations that should have them. I believe each civ should need a variant, like the German one, that allows a specific outlaw (or mercenary). Italian card could add Crabats rather than Ronin, as a nod to the extensive use of Croatian soldiers by the Italian merchant republics. Either that or Armored pistoleers as they are a unit from the Franco Italian kingdom of Savoy. Portuguese already have access to Ronins via politician, could be moved for the theatre card to add the cannoneer instead that even speaks Portuguese Britain could have one of the new mercenaries, like the gallowglass The list goes on It does not need to be good strategically, but it could be flavourful and create variety, while also making Ronins feel more unique

Just a question, but I stumbled across a game a little bit ago that is on a map called "Survival." I jumped in to see what it was about, and they started immediately calling me a noob when I asked what the meta was. One person immediately left to 'make it fair' but I'm a smidge annoyed that they immediately assumed as such when I just wanted a simple answer on like how the map works, what to expect, etc. So I guess I'm at Reddit to ask: what exactly is the meta of Survival?

Hey, I played the original as a kid and decided to play the DE. I'm having fun, but when I was playing as the Maltese, I saw that the order units had a symbol beneath them, and the sentinels and hospitallers had a different one with a double yellow ring and some white crosses. I thought that the white crosses were the buff that a Maltese unit received when he was close to a friendly building, but I'm receiving them in the enemy camp. I must be understanding these buffs all wrong. Could you guys help me understand these buffs?
