Noobs place them down hoping to secure resources, but the buildings never actually accomplish that. It is always better to build more units instead. The tower is expensive to build, and the buildings don't move when the resources run out. Yes, your villagers can garrison inside them, but without boiling oil, an opponents army can just break down the towers without taking much damage. "Well if you build walls and put towers behind them then it will work" Yeah, but that is the walls doing the work, not the towers. Walls are just good. The only time throwing down towers actually makes sense is in a full population fight where you want to dish out extra damage. They don't actually protect anything.

As anyone with eyes could tell Egypt is on the bottom. People into the tournaments overestimate Egypt every time because they outperform in tournaments. Egypt is better if you study your opponent and know what they're going to do but they are horrible in random battles. They could really use some buffs. A large myth unit buff would allow Egypt to keep its identity and Egypt is capped on favor sooner than other factions so having strong myth units as a advantage for Egypt is easy to balance.
