I would think a Game of Thrones expansion with 3 factions and dragons for siege would be historically accurate. Think about it 🤔

Would be really cool if archers when inside a siege tower would make it shoot. That would make it worth it. I mean, why create such a niche unit that is never used. I have been playing in DE for some time now, and I didnt see a single game where they were used...

Longest hot streak in the sampled top ladder: Oni.TaToH (26 wins). Best sampled win rate with 300+ games: VIT | Hera 75.0%. 31 of the sampled top players have played in the last 24h.

Hi, After the August 13 server maintenance, I was disconnected in the middle of two consecutive ranked games on the morning of August 14. Both times, the game displayed this message: “You have been disconnected from the network. Please check your connection and try again. A save has been created for restoring. Would you like to exit without viewing the map and final game statistics?" I have played AoE II: DE regularly for almost three years and had never seen this message before. Also, before playing ranked again, the game asked me to benchmark my PC although that has been done already. in the afternoon, it asked me again to do the benchmark, and I had not changed my hardware, game files or graphics settings. I’m playing the Steam version on Windows 11. Both issues started immediately after the maintenance. Has anyone else seen this particular disconnect message or been asked to repeat the benchmark since the maintenance? Thank you!

Age of Mythology Retold has a lot of cool features non of the AoE games have. Individual Difficulty Each AI can be set to a different difficulty. This allows a lot more variation and interesting matchups. For example you can give yourself an easy AI to have some support against a Hardest AI instead of having to give you an ally with the same difficulty as your enemy. AI personality Each AI can have one of a long list of personalities. From basic ones like “Aggressive” and “Defensive” to more exotic ones that only attack after you attack, ones that build up a large army before attacking, ones that focus on supporting their allies, ones that try to expand as much as possible and so on. I don’t need to explain why this adds a lot to skirmish and Coop gameplay. 12 Players AoMR doesn’t just support 8 players like all the AoE games but a whole 12. This allows for more epic battles but also makes creating custom Scenarios a lot easier. You probably know a few official scenarios that struggle getting around the 8 player limit like “Ragnar”. Having 4 more players would help a lot. More then that would be appreciated too of course. Auto Queue You can enable the feature to automatically queue civilian and military units. I know a lot of you don’t want to play that way but would it hurt to have it as an optional feature in lobbies? It would make the game a lot more approachable to casual players. Auto Economy This is a feature that already exist on the Console Version of AoE2 so why not bring it over to the PC version to. I know pretty much no one that will read this post will need this feature but it would make the game a lot more approachable for new players. It might help convince one of your friends to give AoE2 a try that was too afraid of learning such a complex game so far. Random events and bonuses AoMR introduced the Arena of the Gods and Gauntlet gamemodes which offer unique modifiers for each match. This feature has been added to Skirmish lobbies too. In late imperial war, I always have some vils around my trebs to repair them. Though i wonder if it is worth it from a cost benefit analysis, since the vils are sitting there idle if the trebs are not attacked. Is there anything creative that im missing that I can use them for while they are there waiting for the treb to get damaged? I thought about: - Making them chop wood nearby. Though there might be no wood to chop nearby. And the trip to go to the wood and come back, might be too long and then you lose the trebs before you repair them. - Make them build palisade gates around. Though these can also disturb your formation. - Make them build a mill and some farms and they work the farms nearby. Though this occupies front line tiles that are necessary to build stuff. - Place them inside rams, so the rams go faster, and make the rams patrol in front of the trebs and army to soak up arrows. - Make them build towers. Place the vils inside the towers when idle, so they attack enemies nearby. I think this is the best. Edit: Just tested rams with vils inside them, they dont move faster with vils in them, they only move faster with actual infantry, which is very stupid. Like why would a ram only move fast with infantry and not vils. In theory vils should be even more suitable for that kind of work... What a waste...

Hey all, I’ve been majorly impressed by a few custom campaigns that help give factions that don’t have an official campaign some flavor. Aegidius comes to mind for the Romans, for example, and now the Majorian campaign Ornlu uploaded got me thinking… Anyone know of any completed or in progress solid Khitan or Jurchen campaigns? It sucks they were released as kind of this tacked on thing for Three Kingdoms even though they are solid for the time period of AOE2. Thanks!

Does anyone else remember BOTH the Persians and Japanese getting economy bonuses by way of the villagers work rate increasing with each age? That was one of the reasons the Japanese was my favorite to play. I can’t find any record of it on Age of Empires 2 Wiki. Making me feel like it’s a Mandela effect. Haha

Season 2 of the Low Elo Legends League will have an FFA Exploding Kings format with a twist —- randomized bounties on Kings. Here are some questions— looking for feedback: 1. Should there be Elo limits since it’s FFA and higher elo kings can be easily sniped 2. What do you think of this point-based formatting? -3 points for Last Standing player (1st place) -2 points for 2nd place -1 point for 3rd place -1 point per king snipe (intentionally deleting your own king to kill another players king would either 0 or 0.5 points) 3. Which maps would be most fun? Thinking of changing it biweekly 4. 10 matches maximum per player. -idea here is to reward those that remain active. Eg. Shoveler plays 6 matches within the 12-week period with a point total of 19. Russoft plays 10 matches and ends the 12-week period with a total of 23 points. Hence, Russoft is rewarded for playing out his 10 game limit. How many players should be allowed to register/participate? Should there be a limit? -We’ve had scheduling issues with players remaining active in Season 1 as it was a 2v2 tournament where 12 countries were represented. I’d say around 25% either dropped out entirely (didn’t respond to DMs after committing to S1 of LELL) or had real-life situations come up that they needed to attend to (new job, getting married, moving, etc). It’s completely fine as adulting must take priority over aoe2 —- but I think having a lot of people register could be good and bad — wanted to get your guys take on it. 6. Bounty hunting — based on a randomized system… specific king bounties would be put on the heads of random players on any given match — the player that defeats that king would get an additional 1 point for the snipe. Ideas: Ex 1. Color bounty (teal is chosen in an 8 player FFA) Ex 2. Highest Elo in game Ex. 3 A-Z …alphabetically sniping the king of a player whose name starts with a specific letter of the alphabet Ex. 4 In game score bounty … highest score at a given time mark in game would initi
