The start of the new season is honestly a huge disappointment. It feels like there have been basically no meaningful adjustments at all. Existing bugs still haven’t been fixed — for example, the -2/5 placement matches bug. And instead of fixing existing issues, we somehow got new ones. Some players are apparently being placed around 1,000 ranked points lower than they should be, with no clear explanation as to why. Good morning community, I am a lowly gold player who enjoys playing HRE and Golden Horde. There are some civs/matchups that I consistently struggle with. One is the English turtle strat and specifically the Berkshire Palace.

I was actually wondering if Jin was any good before, until I saw someone charge his entire army into Pagoda Forest, get the whole army converted, and rage quit. WOW. Like, wow.

After a long week i can finally sit down and play some but the game just won't connect to the internet. I know there has been an update recently, but steam doesn't say anything about it.

Just got a match on a map that I have banned, which ofc I closed the game and confirmed after that I had indeed the map banned. Next I completed my 5th ranked match and the match result was not persisted. My ranked page still shows 4/5 maps.

I'm not that indecisive in general but it has been almost 500 hours of gameplay in Aoe4. I really like this game. However it's so difficult to choose one civ to concentrate on.

SC2 vs AoE4 We recently had a post ( ) that sparked quite a debate regarding pathfinding and responsiveness. I’d like to understand this topic better. How do you balance good pathfinding and responsiveness with strong immersion?

Played through the Norman Campaign, and there is this problem with save load that prevents from unlocking achievement. I replayed the final mission start to finish and no luck. I dont want to replay it all tbh.

we already have boosted guys dominating team ranked ladder with their legion of smurfs, now they are having this bug that i heard existed for a few months already. and the cherry on top we don't have any patch between season now. honestly its very discourging to play at this point.

They start with 5 vils and an IO, relying on the IO to make up for the vil deficit, but does that mean it makes more sense to build a lumber camp before a dock? Otherwise you're down a vil? It takes 250 wood before that lumber camp breaks even though (20% bonus drop) I assume it's still better to delay the LC to get the fishing boats sooner, as it's still a parallel eco vector, as opposed to delaying the dock 50wood? And just accept that ZXL is maybe a little behind in that regards? TIA!

Hi all, Does anyone have any beginner friendly YouTube videos to watch which explain how to play countries? I feel like I've spent hours and hours trying to find a video but every time I click on something like "how to play X in 2026" or "new player guide to X" within a few seconds the video will be a long the lines or "okay so 4 vils food, 2 vil stone" and then a commentary of the game. Very little editing or clear guidance principles. Is there anything similar to AOE2 (spirit of the law comes to mind) or other games like total war or really anything where the person explains more basically about a civ, it's advantages, what units are good etc? The closest I've come across is Chilly empires shorts but they are so brief and outdated (I'm sure some of the longer guides I've found do that but it's just not accessible unless you watch the whole 45 minutes etc).
