I would love to have bold fonts to improve readability, to lead the eye what is of importance like headlines. In the heat of the battle a quick overview is important, especially for the ingame hover tech tree and tooltips. Too often I am confronted with heavy wall of texts. I tried to mod headlines for techtree and tooltips but it seams not to be possible. Further down a request to the devs. Status Quo (who I see it) We have two font folder: resources/_common/fonts >> there are a mix of texture-based-files (used for e.g. techtree and tooltips) and font-vector-files (maybe legacay and fallback fonts) resources/_common/wpfg/fonts (I guess used for e.g. main menu - mostly the yellowish fonts) key-values The whole overview text of a civ is defined under a singular key value. This makes it impossible to give the headline another style class via the .json files. But what I found is some syntax that is already read by the game. \n for line break and < b > for bold! Amazing! But in the game the as bold declarated text is not diferent to the other. techtree_DE 565×498 75.5 KB I was coruious how it looks like in AoE II HD. Surprise, the bold declaration workes! So, its clearly intended to have bold text. Btw it looks like in HD the line break doesn´t work. grafik 533×779 686 KB Request to the devs Is it possible to get another font at resources/_common/fonts wich is used for bold declarated text? Four file types make up a texture based font. We would need: combined_bold.box combined_bold.txt combined_bold_0000.DDS combined_0000_bold.png And the same for sansserif. I’m happy to hear what others think about it, discuss it further, and maybe get some attention and input from a dev.

pictured: me trying to manage 3 ( three!!) entire archers to go harass the enemy villagers whilst also making sure my TC is constantly making villagers and these villagers are being assigned to work-appropriate tasks and I'm not running out of population space and i'm managing my resources and animals appropriately to try and continue running my town with any semblance of efficiency and every time i click away from my archers they're self-aggroing to enemy structures and killing themselves under the enemy TC

Sometimes a Trade Cart or Trade Cog gets moved with other units which makes it go idle. If it has gold in it, it gets lost when you click to ally’s market. So, you need to check if it has gold or not and send to either your market or ally’s. If you sent it to your market, it goes idle again after reaching there. This can be helped by introducing a “Resume Trade” Quality of life feature. It would be available for each idle trade cart/cog. It will make the cart/cog resume their trade route.

What if AoE2 had Guilds like in Medieval 2 total war. Imagine there’s an extra building called Guilds. And you can pick a subject you want to specialise in. For example archers, swordsmen, theologians, merchants, european knight crusaders/hashashim/armenian warrior monks/japanese warrior monks/mesoamerican warrior monks/cavalryschools/greekfire/gunpowderindustry/marine/seamerchants etc. Then you would get upgrades for the specific unit through upgrading the building you unlock technologies or they come with ageups after you’ve picked the branche you want to specialise in. And in the imperial age the guilds that don’t focus on base units will unlock a regional unit instead of upgrading a base unit. Like the monk (theologians), european knight crusader, hashashim for middle eastern civs, byzantine flamethrowers, armenian/japanese/mesoamerican warrior monks, turkish great bombards, korean hwarang, chinese gunpowder units, slavic gunpowder units. It could be a way to add more regional units to the game

I am tired of downloading, unzipping, and copying the record files when I want to view a replay so I created this tool. It is free with no limitations. Just follow some players including yourself, and click play, the game replay will start automatically. Of course, it just automates the tedious process of downloading, unzipping, copying, and launching, but it's so good.
