The current Quick Play implementation offers only one fixed preset (Low Resources + Normal Speed). While this works for standard pacing, it significantly limits the usability of Quick Play for players who want shorter, more dynamic sessions, especially in vs AI scenarios. Core Issue Quick Play currently forces a single pacing model, which does not accommodate players who prefer fast‑paced gameplay or who use Quick Play as a warm‑up tool before ranked or multiplayer. Proposed Solution Add at least one additional Quick Play preset, specifically targeted at fast‑paced play: Fast‑Paced vs AI Mode • Standard or High Resources • Fast Game Speed This would allow players to quickly start a more dynamic match without manually configuring lobbies every time. Why This Matters Quick Play is meant to reduce friction; a single preset does not achieve this for diverse pacing preferences. A fast‑paced preset improves player onboarding, practice flow, and session variety. It increases Quick Play’s value for both casual and experienced players. I play at 300 Hz, but minimap scrolling behaves as if it were running at ~30 Hz . Camera movement becomes visibly choppy only when scrolling via the minimap. Scrolling at the edges of the screen and scrolling using keyboard arrow keys are perfectly smooth and correctly match the refresh rate. The issue is isolated to minimap‑based scrolling. FREQUENCY OF ISSUE 100% of the time / matches I play (ALWAYS) REPRODUCTION STEPS Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue: Launch the game on a high‑refresh‑rate monitor (144–300 Hz). Start any match. Move the camera by placing the mouse cursor on the minimap. Observe that the scrolling animation is choppy and appears to run at a much lower refresh rate than the game. EXPECTED RESULT Minimap camera scrolling should be smooth and should match the actual refresh rate of the game (300 Hz in my case), just like edge scrolling and keyboard scrolling.

The Age of Empires 2 community has been looking at the same end-game statistics screen for 25 years. I’ve come up with some simple ideas to improve the statistics screen.
