Hablamos de Seong, la tecnología exclusiva de los coreanos. Se investiga en el castillo y que da más dos de alcance a todas sus torres de guardia y fortalezas. Y eso no es todo. Los coreanos ya tienen mejoras de torres gratuitas al avanzar de edad. Con eupseong encima y las mejoras de alcance de herrería, tus torres de flecha superan alcance de los cañones de bombarda y dromones sin ingenieros de asedio. Una torre fija alcanzando más lejos que el asedio naval más temido del juego. En mapas acuáticos esto es devastador. Normalmente el enemigo puede bombardear tu costa desde lejos con cañones. Con torres coreanas, con eupseong no pueden acercarse lo suficiente sin entrar en tu rango. Solo los galeones de cañones de élite pueden superarlas. Todo lo demás queda fuera del rango antes de disparar. Y ofensivamente puedes construir torres con Eupseón cerca de la base enemiga lo antes posible. Con ese alcance extra interrumpe su economía desde más lejos, sin que puedan destruirlas fácilmente con asedio básico y su costo es muy bajo. Incluso con pocas torres activas la inversión se justifica sola. Eupseong convierte las torres coreanas en la defensa de mayor alcance del juego. En tierra, en costa, en agua. El punto número uno va a ser identificar las civilizaciones más propensas a jugar Fast Castle Uniaunic. Hay algunos factores que nos pueden ayudar a considerar esa posibilidad desde Arcage. El primero es identificar las civilizaciones con la que esta estrategia [música] suele ser más viable. Entre ellas encontramos Bengalis, aprovechan muy bien sus alianos extra al avanzar dead y cuentan con el Rata, una unidad extremadamente versátil. Portugueses que tienen acceso [música] a Lorgan Gown, una de las unidades únicas más fuertes de icos birmanos con el arambai, una unidad que prácticamente no necesita mejoras para empezar a ser efectiva. Bohemios con el vagónusita y los tupí que gracias a sus bonos económicos pueden llevar rápido a castillos y producir arqueros del bosque de manera muy rápida. También existen civilizaciones que pueden jugar fast hacia unidades únicas que consumen principalmente comida y oro. Algunos ejemplos son indostanos con el gulam, malayos con el caramit, mayar con el usaer, españoles con el temido conquistado.

We're sending a bunch of bills out here and then bunch of bills back in this case. Just put the house here with a wood cutter. It's like a couple houses here. It's going to be good. Don't don't waste your villager walk time by sending all the way out here. It's not going to be very good. Also, having the having the house out here is really sketchy. If the opponent wants to make militia, he can just kill them kill it anyways. Also, he almost denied your house with his starting scout, too. Just uh nothing about this house is good. Oh, well, the only thing good is that it is part of your wall eventually, but you can get that part later. Never build a gate here because the opponent is up here. Your gates want to be on the front, and you also don't want to make a gate right now cuz they're really expensive. And yeah, you'll never leave your base from this direction and go this way. It doesn't really make any sense. And it's just a weak point in your walls. So, avoid making gates as much as possible. You definitely don't need a gate here. It also only covers three tiles, too, cuz there's a bush here. So, we're kind of wasting wasting uh a bit of uh walling as well. Okay. Your map is decent, though. Like, you just wall this off. Uh but if you saw in the last episode he's about mid400s and recently started to to test out a civ I suggested the Japanese. Now since that episode I actually got to hang out with my uncle in person, talk to him a little bit so I can give you some insights from that. And I'll get into uh what I suggested for him with the Japanese. But this is actually mega random. And they actually start with three pre-built houses here, which he noticed right away as well, which is pretty crazy cuz like for me, I instinctively just build two houses right away. But he was like, "Oh, let's assess the situation here. I don't need houses." Which I thought was pretty cool. I think many people out there watching would agree. Now, Ank did say, and this is maybe the highlight of our conversation about Age of Empires, uh, I'll just throw it in at the start of the video. Ank did say, "I give him way too much credit." He's like, "Yeah, he he gives me way too much credit. He says I'm doing things for reasons that I didn't even know existed. I'm just clicking things and playing the game, basically." Uh, but little thing you need to know about, he's far too humble for his own good. All right. TL;DR This is not a post against DLC or new civilizations. I hope Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition continues to grow. However, as the game expands, maintaining long-term compatibility for data mods becomes increasingly difficult after each major update. I believe it may be worth discussing whether future development could gradually move toward a more modular data structure that benefits both official development and the modding community. I’m also interested in hearing how other modders and players feel about this. Opening “If you seek his monument, look around you.” — Sir Christopher Wren (attributed epitaph) Age of Empires II is one of the most remarkable long-lived RTS games ever made. Not because of a single expansion. But because it has continued to evolve for more than twenty-five years. New civilizations, new campaigns, new mechanics, and continuous balance updates have all contributed to its longevity. This is something worth appreciating. However, I believe we are now at a point where another question has become equally important. Not only: “What civilization should come next?” But also: “Can the current architecture continue supporting another decade of expansion?” This is not an anti-DLC post I want to be very clear: I enjoy new civilizations I enjoy new campaigns I want AoE2 to keep growing This is not a suggestion to slow down development. It is a suggestion to think about sustainability alongside expansion. Growth vs Maintenance From my experience maintaining AoE2 mods over the years, I have noticed a gradual shift. Creating content is not the hardest part anymore. Maintaining compatibility after official updates is. Most mods do not heavily modify the entire game. They often touch only a small set of: Units Technologies Effects Yet each major update often requires revisiting compatibility because underlying data continues to evolve. This is not a criticism of the developers. It is simply the natural result of a game that has been actively expande

Galleons already have really high bonus damage vs. other Galleons so the +1 pierce armor seems pretty insignificant, not to mention you'll likely have Carracks/Fast Fire Ships in the front anyways. Carracks already get shredded by Galleons and Fast Fire Ships hard counter them, so not sure how much it would affect either of those dynamics. Galleons also have far more base attack than normal archery units so +1 pierce armor would theoretically block a much smaller percentage compared to land archers. Fortifications already shred ships with bonus damage so pierce armor doesn't matter at all for them. Am I missing something or is this just an incredibly niche tech, even for water standards?
