The cocasters being tournament participants themselves, plus the detailed post game interviews, make it really fun to listen to. Respect to Memb for organizing this, it's not easy to convince everyone and set it all up while running an S tier tournament at the same time.

I know what you are thinking. "These don't sound like civilizations. They sound like states or families." These countries lasted between 1000 to 600 years which is a lot longer than 3K or the Huns. Bavaria itself was controlled by almost a dozen different families from 500 to 1500. There were over 100 countries inside of just Swabia. These are more like close cultural groupings of dozens of countries inside of the Holy Roman Empire. Austria itself was 5 different countries (Austria, Styria, Carinthia, Carniola, and Tyrol). So no. These are not just families. Many different families ruled these places from 500-1500. They aren't just countries. Saxony contained within it dozens of different countries due to the fragmentation of the empire. All six civs will have access to Vorwerks, Imperial Abbeys, and Prince-Bishops. The Vorwerk is a Folwark with Central European architecture. The Imperial Abbey is a Fortified Church locked to the Imperial Age and with Central European architecture. *New regional Unit: Prince-Bishop. This is an upgrade of the monk available in Imperial Age. Prince-Bishops automatically convert enemy units. They have more HP and line of sight than a monk but have a much longer cooldown between conversions. Prince-Bishops preach to the masses. When they successfully convert a unit, they also convert all enemy units nearby. Example: A Prince-Bishop successfully converts a knight at long range. The knight is converted but so are all enemy units within 3 tiles of the Prince-Bishop. Think about it like Conversion-Trample-Damage. A. The toxic GGs, the "Ban them, the loser, the low ELO insults, I was just tired of it. It’s a game, you win some, you lose some. But lately, it felt like too much. In my last ranked match, right at the start, I decided to just type in the chat: "No violence. Only peace." To my shock, my rival agreed. We ended up playing for a solid hour. No military. Just trading, building houses, and placing windmills right next to each other. We built multiple Wonders side-by-side. We even let our monks hang out together and gifted relics to one another! It became this incredibly fun build-order where I actually got to recreate a settlement design I used to do back in 2010. At the end, we collaborated to build the ultimate peace sign out of Palicade on the map. I don't care much about ELO, so I told them in the chat that I would resign once we got bored. I said my goodbyes. But right as I was about to, they resigned exactly 2 seconds before me. WTH. I am actually mind blown. The true AoE spirit is still alive out there. Hello Kings, I went from 1000 to 700 up to 900 elo.Got aroud 100 games at 50% win rate from 700 to 900 i did mostly Goth Man@arm around 9min 30 sec i got to feudal on arabia 19 pop with Hera build on youtube. Usualy i win before ennemy get to castle age. Something I follow with ram/mongonel and knight or longsword man. But at 900 people are better. They kick wall i dont get dmg as much. Im always losing to cav civ magyar franck on the counter attack either scout or knight. I dont know how to play defense... If i played couple of game I decide not to attack because they got a early feudal and Im excepting scout. My dark is good, but i feudal with attacking and and walling it becomes messy i idle tc to much. Once i reach castle , if i survive scout , I have noo idea what strategy to use after. Either my opponont double castle drop me or knight rush and break palisade.. I tried to push longman pike and ram, if ennemy got castle, im dead. if i 3 or 2 tc boom im also dead. I got knight at my door... Any ideaaa

Random thought of the day: What are your favourite units when it just comes down to looks? I always loved both the Knight and Cavalier and always hate that I have to update to Paladin for maximum strength. Other than that I always loved the Samurai.

I've had a frustrating trend of only winning most games that don't involve a hoard of crossbowmen hitting my base moments after my opponent hits Castle Age. Its not that I don't know to make the counters, but I usually don't have enough time to make enough skirms with upgrades or get up a siege workshop and get a mango or a couple scorpions out in time. Any tips that people have found success against this with? As a bonus question, the infantry and rams push has also got me a couple times too. Any best practices against this?

Twelve days ago , I had shared my entire notes on AoE2. One of the highlights was supposed to be a nerf oriented rework for the Wei, especially with nerfs to the Xianbei Raider. My personal take on the civ is that it has good eco, bit worse than Bengali or Malay, but then goes into better options like Hei Guang Cavalry, and especially the cheap and very spammable Xianbei Raider. I consider the Tiger Cavalry to be OP in the Castle Age, but not so much in the Imperial For one of the nerfs for the Xianbei, I had suggested making Ming Guang Armour cheaper, but then it would give only +3 melee armour. Currently Xianbei Raiders can take 20 Hussar hits, compared to 14 for regular Heavy Cav Archers. Hei Guang Cavalry, Tiger Cavalry, and Cao Cao can be adjusted with their personal stats. This however left their Hussars feeling very meh. Their Hussars currently trade -2 pierce armour for +3 melee armour, this way they would be left with -2 pierce armour for +2 melee armour. Hardly a worthy trade. So after 12 days back on the drawing board, here's my updated take on the Wei Hei Guang Cavalry (Both) - Cost 70 Food 65 Gold (+5 Food) / Movement Speed 1.375 (instead of 1.35) Heavy Hei Guang Cavalry - Cost 350 Food 450 Gold (+200 Gold) Heavy Hei Guang Cavalry - Attack 13 (instead of 12) / 0 Bonus vs. Infantry (instead of +1) / Melee Armour 5 (instead of 4) / Line of Sight 5 (instead of 4) One of the complaints about the Hei Guang Cavalry is that it doesn't feel distinct enough from Knights. They have very poor survivability against Spear units due to their lower HP. This way, they would cost more, but also move slightly faster. The Heavy Hei Guang Cavalry is more expensive to upgrade, but also has better stats. These are actually buffs for the Wu, with the Wei adjusted to be about the same Traction Trebuchet - Movement Speed 0.5 (instead of 0.57) / +270 Bonus vs. Buildings (instead of +230) / Line of Sight & Search Radius 16 (-2 Line of Sight & -1 Search Radius) Limits thei

CONTEXT FOR THE CHANGE In the Medieval Period, the Teutonic Order and the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation were created, existed and operated due to separate processes. The linking of their histories was a result of the emergence of Prussia as a nation dominating & unifying the Germans, which in itself came into existence as a result of the unification of what remained of the Teutonic Order (Duchy of Prussia) & Brandenburg, a major principality of the HRE. This resulted in integrating the Order's history as being Germanic in origin & leading the Ostsietlung (Settlement of German-speaking peoples in the East) into an emerging Prussian-German Cultural Identity, and as such, also the wider German Cultural Identity. But this is all a development which occurred outside the game's timeline. Historically, in that time period the Teutonic Order, and the Holy Roman Empire were two different things, and the German Civilisation being represented by the Teutons is retroactive. As such, it would be logical to split the civilisation in a manner similar to what happened with the Italians or Slavs (we received the Sicilians in addition to Italians, or split the Slavs West/East in the from of Poles & Bohemians) THE UPDATE IDEA The Teutons would remain mostly, if not entirely as-is , because their concept already fits perfectly in representing the Teutonic Order, but we would receive an additional Civilisation in the from of The Germans , representing the Holy Roman Empire of the time. Additionally, if this change would need to be a major update/DLC worthy, I also see the possibility of introducing The Swiss Civilisation as well, due to their major differences compared to how the rest of the HRE operated and their significance in developing the medieval infantry doctrine as a counter to dominance of heavy cavalry , the concepts for another great infantry civilisation write themselves.
