Since a minority of people want this game to devolve back into AoC, I wanted to ask. Would anyone here be interested in a DLC that adds in a Legacy mode for the game, so you can play as it during AoC and HD? With all the old balancing and everything but with DEs QoL stuff and having a a separate ranked ladder. It would essentially be an extra mode like Chronicles or RoR, with the price of the DLC itself being something like 5$. Would anyone actually buy this or would it not really have much reason to exist since casual players are more numerous than specifically people who are both puritans and only play multiplayer.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue: Task a villager to build a mill or any stockpile building Villager will repair building instead of gathering resource task villager ot gather resource once resource finish villager stop unless you shift click EXPECTED RESULT What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present? Villager is suppose to continue to the nearest forage bush/ resource he’s assign too IMAGE ALWAYS attach a PICTURE (.jpg, .png, .gif) or VIDEO (.mp4, YouTube link) that highlights the problem.

With the prospect of new architecture sets seemingly back on board (except for the c*ckblocked Persians), I'm sharing my moodboards (glorified image dumps) from the forum for the two Steppe-related sets. The issue with designing a nomadic set is that the yurts and tents all of them used to share tended to fade away as the nomads grew in power, conquered settled populations, and made them build new cities for them. Mongol cities are full of monasteries and palaces in Chinese and Tibetan styles, Hun towns in Eastern Europe probably resembled Germanic settlements the most, and the Turks famously blended Persian (khem, Persian = Central Asian, khem) and Byzantine styles. You can't really find a common denominator between Sino-Tibetan and Byzantine styles however; hence my suggestion to make not one, but TWO Steppe sets! :D Eastern Steppe (Mongol/Tibetan) From yurts and wooden shacks in the Feudal Age to the palaces and temples of Mongol, Tangut and Tibetan empires. (Yes, it'd fit Tibetans too -- not all Tibetans were high mountaineers, probably the majority or a significant plurality of them were nomadic pastoralists roaming the Tibetan Plateau who lived in tents not unlike those of other nomads.) Eastern Steppe moodboard Potential civs: Mongols Khitans Tanguts Tibetans Western Steppe (Pontic) I imagine that Western Steppe architecture could involve mixing (south)eastern European and Western Asian architecture styles, as a nod to many peoples who came from the east and settled in the west. Tents and cottages in Feudal (perhaps even Romani wagons, apparently based on an Ossetian design? and how about Scythian wagons before them?), evolving into Turkic Anatolian and Crimean and vernacular Caucasian styles later on. (Caucasus didn't consist only of highlanders like Georgians and Armenians but also of nomads and semi-nomads like the Alans; a probable remnant of the Hun Empire, the North Caucasian Huns, survived there until the 7th century at least.) For context we are pretty much same rating (I am 1200-1250 and my teammate is a little higher like 1250-1300 on average). For example, we tried a basic mongol scout rush into all-in steppe lancer on arabia. We tried 10 attempts over the last 6 weeks or so, with review after each game, discussion of strategy, etc. We alternated who tried the meta mongol steppe lancer all-in. In all 10 matches, the player doing the all-in mongol strat won. It was only close in a couple (and those were a bit cheesy because they relied heavily on the fact we knew opponent was forced to do that strat and couldn't e.g. do CA instead of steppe lancer). Honestly most fun I've had in ages in this game, but also reinforced what I have been believing more and more which is that once execution gets above a rougly 1200 elo level, games are mostly decided by the strat you pick. I guess this starts to be less the case again at much higher elo, but doubt I'll ever have enough gaming time to get there... Solution would be random civ, but that is kind of tough as there are sooo many civs to learn...

AoE2.ai is tracking 45,675 RM 1v1 players. Top five: #1 Oni.Vinchester 2,957, #2 wR.Sebastian 2,954, #3 VIT | Hera 2,919, #4 TAG_Sitaux 2,898, #5 wR.Lucho 2,840. Longest hot streak in the sampled top ladder: Oni.TaToH (27 wins). Best sampled win rate with 300+ games: VIT | Hera 75.0%. 47 of the sampled top players have played in the last 24h.

I would say rattan archers because they are incredible strong in higher numbers but not unbeatable they are good at being an anti archer archer without being too strong against mele units

any time I go to push a deer, my TC goes idle my worker sent to boar dies another one gets sent, also dies get the short end of the palisade walls, lose relics, gold and stone. worker sent to build market gets eaten by a snake get housed can't get the last deer it's just hugging the treeline teammate leaves forget how to make military somehow have no resources i donno man

Am i the only one thinking that matchmaking lately has been even worse after they shortened down time in queue? in my opinion its destroying ladder play. i would rather wait longer in queue than match people 500 elo higher/lower every other game

Sometimes when we are chatting after the game, I try to exit the stat screen by hitting esc, but it does not do what I expect and I completly exit the game. It is not that I just leave you out to dry halfway our post-game analysis, I am just not really good with stuff. I am sorry though.

Will they change the unit from the scenario editor and affect custom scenarios or will it stay the same op unit in the new campaign?

Is there anyone actually doing this these days, at a moderate to high level? Incidentally this was meta for a long while until Hera popularized full walling. Even TheViper says he "doesn't like walling". For example, if you're 100% sure you had a better dark age than your opponent, would it not be better to make more army instead of walls? Seems to often make for a more fun game as well.

When the Dynasties of India DLC came out the devs had no problem renaming the reworked Indian civ to Hindustanis. But seemingly since then they are reluctant to do so again. When Dawn of the Dukes came out they split the Slavs. The previously released Bulgarians represent the Southern/Balkanise Slavs and the Volga-Bulgarians. The Bohemians portray those Western Slavs who were part of the Holy Roman Empire. The Poles are those Western Slavs who weren't in the HRE. With them the regular Slav civ merely represents the Eastern Slavs now: the Rus or Ruthenians. It wasn't renamed however. I heard from an Ornlu video that the the devs might have made this decision because those two names today are heavily associated with the Russians and due to the current war in Ukraine, it might have upset some people. I don't think it was really the case. Especially because in AoE 4 the Eastern Slavic civ is also called Rus, plus in the Mstislav scenario and in the Kotyan campaign the Eastern Slavs are constantly referred to as Rus. But at least it is some sort of explanation, we otherwise lack. Later when the Jurchens and Khitans (who also represent the Tanguts unfortunately) arrived, the Chinese civ wasn't renamed to Han. Back in the medieval age the name Chinese was a cultural and geographical identity and not a civ nor an ethnic group. The Jurchens and the Tanguts from geo and cultural sense were pretty much Chinese themselves. If someone from China see this, please correct me if I'm wrong, but based on I know even the Chinese educators and historians love viewing The Tanguts' Xi Xia and Jurchens' Jin kingdoms as part of the Chinese history. Calling a Han based civ to Chinese meanwhile having another completely Chinese Jurchen civ and a hybrid Khitan-Tangut civ that because of its Tangut elements is also partly Chinese doesn't really make sense to me. Played a mega random game yesterday and didn’t have a scout to push deer. Ended up milling them but just wondered if it might have been better to use a vill to push them in to my tc as having to build 2 mills instead of the usual 1 put me 100 wood behind, but using a vill to push all 4 deers would have meant effectively idling a vill for a fair bit of time. What do we all think would have been best? Idling the vill to push or spending the 100 wood on an extra mill?
