I still think this would be a good and cool idea to implement. It would also make ranked and tournament games more exciting, since players are more in complete unknown and have to get their bearings, including having to figure out which direction opponents are in and where map features are (rivers, resources, etc. of known maps). Is Mega Random truly random, or does it change templates periodically? I remember the last time Mega Random appeared in the map pool, I often got a start with 2 TCs in a game, and everyone else was on a high-ground map. In the previous rotations, I rarely got this template.

Every now and then we players, get housed. Sometimes like crazy all the time. So, how about a mod is made. Where, for almost every time we get housed the price of the wood gets increased by 2-5+ wood more. And if we are mega housed, Like crazy, it goes up to 10+ more wood. Kind a like how the real housing market goes. Want that house so bad, well, the price just went up a slight bit. 11. And the more villagers you put on wood, well, that's economy.

I have started playing AOE2:DE now after 14 years (13yo then , 27yo now )and want to know if such community of players exist in India ? if , yes , then how big ? My fav civs are Persian , Portugese and Bohemians . I want and wish for tournaments to exist in India and AOE becoming big in our gaming culture which is currently dominated by valorant , pubg , COD and what not . I just played a ranked team game with a map that’s not in the team game ranked pool rotation (African Clearing). Queued again and got Fortress. Has anyone else had this bug? I don’t see that map anywhere in any of the game modes.

The Last Chieftains did a great job of adding in South American gaia units, but I noticed that there are some prominent South American animals that did not appear for some reason. The following animals are currently absent from AoE2: Cougars Herdable alpacas (alpacas do exist in a few ways in AoE2, but never as herdables for some reason, plus AFAIK they don't appear in campaign scenarios or random maps) Spectacled bears (could be implemented in a similar way to the panda rocks from Three Kingdoms) Vicuñas Guinea pigs (could work as herdables) The most conspicuous absence is the cougar, which could have served as a gaia predator in Andean campaigns such as Pachacuti and Lautaro. Could the developers be saving the cougar for a North America dlc? I labelled this post as a suggestion since I would suggest these gaia units to be added into the game to improve flavor, but I am also open to discussion. Did I miss any potential gaia units, and are there any reasons why the developers have seemingly intentionally avoided adding in herdable alpacas into the game? EDIT: Added guinea pigs to the list

I‘m searching a budget laptop which is able to play AoE 2 DE and its DLCs smoothly. Purpose is playing the game together with my son in coop mode. Is there a ThinkPad, HP or Dell business model out there capable to play the game from your experience? (Lenovo Legion or other gaming laptops are too expensive)

Is anyone else able to play more than 1 game before getting a bunch of different network errors? Either stuck on creating party or some other error code. Then sometimes changing to team games and back fixes it, or I have to restart the game. Also it seems to be dropping inputs? I never had this with crossover, but now that's busted..

Is it just me or does the tapir animation where it raises its head look remarkably similar to when it's attacking? It's a bit distracting, pretty minor grievance to be honest, but I have to always double check just so I know I'm not being lamed for sure.

I'm running a $50 Empire League test tournament today at 1 PM EDT to put EL's automated tournament system through its second real public test. The first tourney completed but had 1 failure. This tourney will be single elim and take place on KOTD6 Arabia. The tournament system is designed to require essentially zero admin work. Creating a tournament takes a few clicks, players join with a single click, and EL (an electron app that runs on top of DE) handles the rest: seeding, brackets, notifications, lobby creation, match results, and round advancement.
